Academic Ceremony for the 167th Graduation Ceremony of Udayana University, Rector Releases 881 Graduates

Jimbaran - Udayana University (Unud) held an Academic Ceremony for the 167th Graduation at the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Jimbaran Campus, Saturday (19/4/2025). The number of graduates released was 881 people and to date Unud has had 128,638 alumni. When grouped according to education level, the graduates consisted of 22 people from the Doctoral Program, 102 Masters, 34 Specialists, 133 Professionals, and 589 Bachelors and 1 person from the Diploma Program. Of the total graduates, there were 357 people who received the title of With Honors or Cum Laude.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Unud Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP., IPU in his report said that today's graduates were dominated by women, numbering 481 people, while there were only 400 male graduates. In terms of academic achievement, the GPA of female graduates is better than that of male graduates, where the average GPA for women is 3.80 while the average GPA for men is 3.77. The average study period for women is 7.42 semesters while the study period for men is 7.72 semesters.

Through this opportunity, the Vice Rector expressed his gratitude to the families of the graduates for the trust given to Udayana University as a place for the learning process in higher education. For the graduates, they hope that through the education they have taken, they will not only master knowledge but also live an intelligent life by prioritizing a good personality at work and in society, always having dedication, innovation and collaboration at work. "This is the key to success in your life," said Prof. Rai.

To obtain important information feedback from alumni for improvement, system development and management of higher education, including facilities, teaching and learning patterns, processes and services at Udayana University, the party also expects the participation of graduates to participate in the online tracer study activities carried out.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Unud, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D in his speech congratulated the graduates who had successfully completed their studies at Udayana University.

"Your success is proof of your hard work. I am sure that in the process of completing your studies, you experienced many challenges and obstacles. For this reason, I express my pride in your achievements and persistence in overcoming all the obstacles that came your way during your education," said the Rector of Udayana University.

The Rector further stated that this graduation ceremony was the last academic event that was attended in pursuing a level of education at university. Graduation is a form of inauguration that you have completed education at a certain level. This is a form of Udayana University's responsibility to the Indonesian nation and state, especially in preparing quality and competitive human resources in the current global era.

The Rector advised all graduates that graduation and the degrees they have achieved are not the end of everything, but are the beginning of new challenges in life. Apart from that, as alumni you represent Udayana University in society. Behavior in society will be a reflection of this campus. Therefore, Alumni are asked to help maintain the good name of the alma mater by always thinking, saying and doing good things. The Rector also hopes that graduates will be able to practice knowledge in their respective professions in a more responsible and qualified manner.

Graduate Representative Made Putri Pramesti Rahayu in her message conveyed that of course, to reach this point, we have to go through many journeys, both ups and downs. Where we enjoy being able to meet relations from various ethnicities, races, religions and gain various experiences both academic, non-academic and organizational, as well as gain the widest possible knowledge. However, there are also many sorrows that we have to go through, such as failures in research, but these sorrows are not something we need to forget or put aside because these sorrows are what provide the most valuable learning for us, making us become much stronger and more resilient people to be ready to face much bigger problems in the future.
