Udayana University Hospital Readiness to Become a Teaching Hospital
The Field Verification Team for Teaching Hospital Standards, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health, Republic of Indonesia made a visit to Udayana University (Unud) Hospital to become a Teaching Hospital on Friday, (22/7/22). The implementation of this verification aims to assess the completeness of documents and facilities according to the standards of the Teaching Hospital at Udayana Hospital.
Present in this verification activity, the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M. Eng., IPU, President Director of Udayana Hospital Prof. dr. I Dewa Made Sukrama, M.Si, SPMK (K) and the Directors of Udayana Hospital.
Visitation Field verification of the implementation of educational activities in teaching hospitals was carried out virtually with the Verification Assessor Team from the Ministry of Health's Education Hospital Working Team, namely drg. Christiana Eka Nartiawaty Hendrajunadi, M.Kes and dr. Ida Bagus anom, M.H.Kes. Also present were the Legal Working Team of the Secretariat General of Health Care at the Ministry of Health, Basar Febriano, SH., MH. From the Association of Indonesian Teaching Hospitals (ARSPI) this event was attended by dr. Hermien Widjajati, Sp.A, MARS and dr. Marwoto Wiyanto, M. Biomed., AIFM, and from the Indonesian Medical Education Association (AIPKI).
President Director of Udayana Hospital Prof. dr. I Dewa Made Sukrama, M.Si, SPMK (K) in his speech said that Udayana Hospital is a university hospital under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Culture which stands on an area of 4.6 hectares and is entitled to a hospital accreditation certificate with a plenary predicate. "This will be a historical spear for Unud Hospital if it is designated as an Education Hospital. So far, what we know is that the Education Hospital is a Sanglah Hospital and in the era of National Health Insurance there is a paradigm shift where patients will be selected in health facilities according to the diagnosis of the disease before being referred to a central referral hospital," he explained.
Prof. Dewa Made Sukrama added that through Field Verification, this Teaching Hospital is expected to become a hospital capable of providing integrated education and training and able to form a network of Teaching Hospitals in the Academic Health System (AHS). The purpose of setting standards for teaching hospitals is to improve the quality of services in teaching hospitals, improve the quality of education in accordance with professional medical education standards, and increase research and development of medical science and technology in teaching hospitals.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Unud Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M. Eng., IPU said that Udayana University Hospital was ready to be appointed as a Referral Hospital during the G20 Annual Meeting to be held in November 2022 in Nusa Dua. "We have conveyed to the Minister of Health in Jakarta that Udayana University Hospital is very ready to become a referral hospital for the upcoming G20 Summit," he said.
In the future, the Rector said that the Udayana University Hospital will be equipped with MRI and other equipment in the laboratory in an effort to improve the quality of education, especially medicine. "It's just a step away from Udayana University Hospital becoming a Teaching Hospital and an Education Center for Udayana University students," he said.
