LPPM Udayana University Holds 2024 National Symposium on Sustainable Innovative Research and Community Services Senastek XI and Senasdimas III, Head of BRIN RI Gives Public Lecture

Kuta - Udayana University (Unud) through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) is holding the 2024 National Symposium "Continuous Innovative Research and Community Service Senastek XI & Senasdimas III" at The Patra Bali Resort & Villas, 29 and 30 October 2024. Activities This was opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs representing the Rector of Unud and presenting the keynote speaker Ir. Rayi Pradono Iswara, M.Sc (ICT Talent Eco-system Development Manager at PT Huawei Tech Investment) with material on Research and Innovation through Huawei ICT Academy as well as a Public Lecture by the Head of BRIN RI Dr. Like Tri Handoko with material on Structuring Research and Innovation Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.

Apart from that, there were also two other speakers from BRIN, namely Prof. Dr. Eng. Agus Haryono (Deputy for Research and Innovation Facilitation) with material on the BRIN Funding Scheme and Research and Innovation Facilities, and Raden Arthur Ario Lelono, Ph.D (Director of Talent Management) with material on Strengthening National Research & Innovation Human Resources Researcher Mobility Scheme From Scouting To Maturing Research Talent.

In this activity, research and service results will be disseminated in accordance with the theme, namely "Unud's Role in Building a Golden Indonesia 2045 through Research Creativity and Innovation".

Chairman of LPPM Unud Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Suarsana, M.Si in his report said that the dissemination activity was attended by 1,171 lecturers (886 research participants and 285 service members), and lasted for 2 days using 12 parallel rooms. The materials that will be presented by the speakers will discuss the important role of universities in realizing the great vision of our nation, namely Golden Indonesia 2045.

Unud's role as a catalyst has a big responsibility in implementing the Tridharma of Higher Education. The research and innovation excellence produced by Udayana University can accelerate industrial transformation, increase economic competitiveness, and improve people's quality of life.

“Building a Golden Indonesia does not only require intelligent human resources, but also creative and innovative people. Creativity is the key in facing global challenges, while innovation is the solution in creating breakthroughs in various sectors. Udayana University, through research and development (R&D) activities, must continue to foster a creative and innovative culture. "This ability to innovate will determine whether Udayana University and Indonesia are able to compete in an increasingly competitive global economy," he said.

He further stated that research is the heart of technological progress and innovation. Therefore, it is important for Udayana University to continue to support research that is oriented towards the needs of society and industry. Collaboration is the key to achieving Golden Indonesia 2045.

Industry can be an important partner in supporting research development, while the government plays a role in creating regulations and policies that are conducive to the development of research and innovation. With good collaboration, research results from Unud can be more quickly adopted by industry and widely applied in society.

Meanwhile the Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP., IPU in his speech said that in line with the achievement of IKU-5, Unud is intensively collaborating with various business and industrial worlds, government and private agencies. From the research policy, the existence of a research grant of 15 percent of PNBP must be utilized by Unud researchers to develop research to obtain outcomes that are recognized and have an impact on society.

Unud is also actively developing the innovation ecosystem by encouraging the acceleration of research-based innovation products with several funding schemes that have been provided by LPPM Unud.

"Hopefully this Symposium can provide benefits to the Unud Academic Community and stakeholders and build a global network of research and community service," said the Vice Rector.

In this activity, the Head of BRIN also handed over the Charter and Top Collaborator Appreciation Cup to the Rector of Unud which was received by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and appreciation to the Unud Collaborator with the Most Publications with BRIN, namely Made Ary Sarasmita from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (9 joint publications), Abd. Rahman As-syakur from the Faculty of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (8 joint publications) and Martiwi Diah Setiawati from the Oceanographic Research Center (5 joint publications).
