Udayana University Releases and Deploys 446 KKN PPM Students to 26 Villages in Bangli

Jimbaran - Udayana University (Unud) through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) held a Student Release and Deployment Event for Real Work (KKN) Community Empowerment Learning (PPM) Period XXX at the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Jimbaran Campus, Friday (10/1/ 2025). The release of the KKN students was attended by the Rector, Institutional Leaders, Faculty Leaders, UPT Leaders, Taman Bali Village Head, District Coordinator and Field Supervisor (DPL).

The KKN students were released directly by the Rector of Udayana University accompanied by the Chair and Secretary of the LPPM which was marked by the wearing of hats and name tags for the DPL and students as well as a symbolic handover represented by the Head of Taman Bali Village.

Chairman of LPPM Unud Prof. I Nyoman Suarsana in his report said that Udayana University wants to contribute a lot to help empower the community to be more empowered, more independent and increase the potential of natural resources and human resources in the village. In accordance with the LPPM Unud service/KKN motto, namely SEWAKA GUNA PARIPOSANA (Devotion to Building Community Independence and Welfare).

Therefore, according to the KKN paradigm, 3 N (NÈTÈS, NITIS and NETES), the party will place and distribute students in 26 villages for this noble task. Armed with knowledge and science and technology, KKN students are expected to be able to empower the potential of natural resources and human resources, so that they are more efficient. At the end of the KKN, it is hoped that community resources will be preserved, they will be more empowered, independent and there will be new science and technology.

The Head of LPPM also reported that the KKN participants for Period XXX were 446 students from 13 faculties within Unud. Of the 446 KKN participants, there were 237 men and 209 women. The KKN participants were spread across 26 KKN location villages in Bangli Regency in Bali Province and will carry out KKN from January 12 to February 24 2025.

"As of today, all students have received KKN posts (village office, village hall, banjar hall, health center mess, school mess, residents' house, boarding school, bumdes building, LPD office, homestay rental). During the KKN implementation, we will carry out monitoring and evaluation (monev) twice (administrative monev and program monev), and KKN exam in the village 23 February 2025," said the Head of LPPM.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Unud, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana in his speech said that Unud KKN activities were expected to be able to respond to current developments in globalization, provide solutions to problems in society, and improve the quality of life of the Balinese people. Therefore, the Unud KKN program was developed through a community empowerment approach.

Students who will be deployed later after this training are expected to be able to make a real contribution in empowering village communities in Bangli such as developing tourist villages, POKDARWIS, MSMEs, education, health, village development master plans, village ICT, and many more.

"I hope that the students who take part in KKN this time can truly become agents of change and become role models in society. Previously, students had an idea of ​​what they had to prepare before arriving in the village and prepared work programs according to village conditions. "Then, implement the work program, as well as the impacts and outcomes to be achieved," said the Rector.

Through this KKN PPM activity, Unud really hopes that students will be able to show the superior, independent and cultured identity of Unud, and can truly demonstrate their capacity through good social ethics when present in society. The Rector asked KKN students to prepare themselves both mentally and spiritually by paying attention to what has been given in the briefing. Apart from that, he also advised to maintain integrity, morality and capacity in society. These three big things are very important and must be paid attention to by all students participating in KKN and maintaining the good name of Udayana University.
