ASIIN Collaborates with Udayana University to Hold ASIIN Indonesia Conference 2024

Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information at Udayana University (Unud), Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika was present and gave a speech at the 2024 ASIIN Indonesia Conference with the theme Shaping Tomorrow Minds: Advancing Higher Education Excellence in Indonesia and Germany, taking place in Sanur, Bali on Monday (30/9/2024).  

This conference was held in collaboration with Udayana University to discuss various themes designed to enrich the repertoire of higher education in Indonesia and beyond, with special emphasis on long-term cooperation between Germany and Indonesia.

This time's theme is very in line with Udayana University's mission to encourage innovation, quality and excellence in higher education. The conference provides an excellent platform to discuss key advances in higher education, with topics ranging from the impact of Artificial Intelligence in teaching and learning to successful models of international collaboration. 

The conference kicked off with an exploration of innovation in teaching and learning, highlighting the impact of AI. Experts from Germany and Indonesia will provide an overview of the current debates, initiatives and policies around AI in higher education, sharing insights on leveraging AI for teaching, learning and higher education.

Prof. Adiatmika, who on this occasion represented the Rector in his speech expressed his deepest gratitude to ASIIN and all participants for their commitment to advancing higher education. May this conference inspire us to create impactful change, encourage deeper collaboration, and take bold steps towards a brighter educational future for institutions and all parties involved.

Also present at this conference was the Director of Student Affairs and Learning at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Suning Kusumawardani, ST, MT. In her speech she said that in order to utilize the positive potential of generative AI while reducing its negative impacts, the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs has decided to develop a Guide to Using Generative Artificial Intelligence in learning in higher education.

She also said that it was hoped that this conference would highlight the important role of international quality assurance in advancing the higher education sector in Indonesia as well as fostering relationships between academics, accreditation bodies and higher education institutions (PT). Today's event is one step in this direction by providing a lot of enlightenment and being useful for the development of Indonesian and German education. She also expressed his deepest thanks to everyone and hoped that further discussions would be fruitful.
