Udayana University Tourism Faculty Holds Reputable Journal Writing Workshop
The Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University (Unud) held a workshop on tips for getting into Scopus Q1 Publications with the theme Reputable Journal Writing Training, by presenting resource person Gde Indra Bhaskara, Ph.D. He is a lecturer and Coordinator of the Udayana University Undergraduate Tourism Study Program which has produced several publications in the journals Scopus Q1 and Q2. On that occasion, Indra explained many tips and tricks for getting into Scopus journals, starting from how to search for literature with the help of AI such as Elicit, typeset or paper digest, to smart ways to find titles and writing topics that attract journal editors.
This reputable journal writing training is an annual agenda for the Faculty of Tourism to encourage lecturers to write quality writing so that it can be published in reputable journals.
"Journal writing workshops are an effort to support lecturers who have reached the level of Associate Professor so that they can fulfill the special requirements for Scopus publication. We must immediately recruit new professors to increase the current number of professors, which is only two," stressed the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs. and Planning, Nyoman Sukma Arida.
It cannot be denied that currently lecturers who want to reach the top of their lecturer career must have reputable publications as an indicator of achieving recognition of mastery of their scientific field.
Moreover, the position of the Faculty of Tourism at Udayana University on the island of Bali is a major tourism destination so that tourism issues circulate very dynamically. This factor is well understood by faculty leaders who continue to facilitate lecturers to achieve this prestigious achievement. As intellectuals, lecturers are required to produce academic work and real work in society.
"We are proud to have a lecturer with international experience like Mr. Indra who also does not hesitate to share his knowledge and tips with other lecturers," he added.
This workshop was attended by around 25 lecturers from the Faculty of Tourism with great enthusiasm as reflected in the many questions asked in the discussion session. The heated discussion lasted until the lunch break in the middle of the day.
