Denpasar- The Udayana University’s Land Excecution Demonstration at Jimbaran which was led by the campus’ rector Professor Ketut Suastika along with thousands of the students, staffs, and lecturers. This demonstration was going on 8 AM, Monday, 27th April 2015. Under the action of thousands of people consisting of students, faculty and staff do long march walk from Udayana University Campus at Sudirman Street, to the Office of the District Court (PN) Denpasar which is about 800 meters.
Rector of Udayana University Professor Ketut Suastika, who led a demonstration urging the court to delay the execution of Campus Udayana University in Jimbaran which was won by the local citizens. Prof Suastika explained, there are land disputes between Unud with residents around the area of Jimbaran Campus, District of North Kuta, Badung. The lawsuit towards Unud has won by the local residents. At the level of the MA (Indonesian Supreme Court) I Wayan Kepradinata applicant's request was granted. “Unud is defeated, "he said during the action, Monday (04/27/2015). It's just that in mind, Judge of Supreme Court granted the request of the applicant which is only based on a copy of the document. Among some of the reasons which are the disputed land had been released in 1982 and there were no parties objected. "The land was already occupied and became state’s land. When it was freed , there was no one has objected," he explained. Because of it, Suastika sees there is flaw and errors of law in the desicion. "We asked for the execution of the land are deferred and delayed," he said again.
This demonstration gets heavy escort. Police were forced to shut down the flow of traffic in front of the Denpasar District Court, because there is long traffic jam at Yos Sudarso Junction towards Sudirman. Anticipation is also done with the deployment of PHH and Dalmas Troops and water cannon vehicles, also stationed around the gate PN Denpasar.
