Appointed as a Resource Person in the Processed Food and Beverages Sector, FTP Unud Lecturer Discusses with MSMEs Assisted by Bank Indonesia

Lecturers from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology were appointed as resource persons for the 2023 MSME Development Program Evaluation Activity and the 2024 MSME Development Work Program Preparation on Thursday-Friday, 11-12 January 2024 at the InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort Hotel. This activity was attended by 83 participants, namely from MSMEs assisted/partners of BI Bali and Tourism Villages, 20 of whom were MSMEs operating in the Food and Beverages sector.

 

In this activity, in order to obtain professional opinion in evaluating and mapping the MSME development program assisted by Bank Indonesia, experts, practitioners or academics were invited according to the MSME cluster or sector. The lecturer at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology is believed to be one of the resource persons in the Processed Food and Beverage Sector, namely Dr. Ir. Luh Putu Wrasiati, M.P and Dr. Dewa Ayu Anom Yuarini, S.TP., M.Agb. as lecturer in the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program and I Desak Putu Kartika Pratiwi, S.TP., M.P., and Putu Julyantika Nica Dewi, S.TP., M.TP., as lecturer in the Food Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University.

 

This activity began with conveying the obstacles faced by each BI Bali-assisted MSME/Partner and after that input and direction were provided by the resource person for product development. Some of the results of discussions related to Food and Beverages between MSMEs and resource persons from FTP are related to nutrition facts products, expiration dates, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and food handling training.

 

One of the speakers is Mrs. Dr. Ir. Luh Putu Wrasiati, M.P. hopes that with this discussion in the future, MSME products that are under the guidance of Bank Indonesia will be able to develop further and of course also have a wider market. One of the inputs given is the need to hold GMP training so that with introduction and training related to GMP, it is hoped that MSMEs can have the right procedures in the product production process. "It is hoped that these rights will be able to produce food products that are quality, hygienic and of course safe for consumers," she said.
