The activity began with remarks by the Chairman of the IVMA Bali Branch, then continued with remarks from the Head of the Klungkung Agriculture Service, and finally remarks by the Head of Nyalian Village Headquarters. In his remarks, the village head of Nyalian welcomed this activity because it would have a very positive impact on animal health and population control, especially dogs and cats, in eradicating rabies. After the opening ceremony, it was continued with the sterilization of dogs and cats in the Nyalian village wantilan hall. Vaccination activities are not only carried out at the Nyalian village wantilan but also targeting residents' homes.

Public enthusiasm is very high to sterilize dogs and cats, especially female ones. This is evidenced by the presence of quite a lot of people to bring their dogs and cats to the Nyalian village wantilan. In addition, this also happened because of the active role of the Nyalian Village apparatus in disseminating information about dog and cat vaccination and sterilization activities to the community. the number of female dogs that were sterilized reached 19, 7 female cats. The number of male dogs that were sterilized was 13 while there were 2 male cats. The total number of dogs and cats that were sterilized in this activity was 41.

The community realizes that the sterilization of female dogs and cats is more urgent because female dogs and cats can give birth quickly and cause the dog population to increase in number and become increasingly difficult to control. In the future, sterilization and rabies vaccination activities for cats and dogs will continue to be carried out both in collaboration with other parties and in the form of routine services by universities in order to free Bali from rabies. Besides that, service activities like this are also part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
