Releasing 566 graduates at the 164th Graduation Ceremony, the Rector of Udayana University Hopes that the Knowledge Gained Will Be Implemented for the Progress of Society, Nation and State
Jimbaran - Udayana University (Unud) held an Academic Ceremony for the 164th Graduation Ceremony at the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Jimbaran Campus, Sunday (27/10/2024). At the 164th Graduation Ceremony, the Rector of Unud sent off 566 graduates and to date the total number of Udayana University graduates has reached 126,255 people. When grouped according to educational level, the graduates at the 164th Graduation Ceremony consisted of 4 people from the Doctoral Program, 49 Masters, 17 Specialists, 31 Professionals, 461 Bachelors and 4 Diplomas. Of the total number of graduates who received the title With Honors or Cum Laude, 117 people were awarded.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, M.P., IPU. in its report, it said that today's graduates were dominated by women, numbering 337 people, while there were only 229 male graduates. Overall the average GPA is quite good, namely 3.81 for the Doctoral program, 3.87 for the Masters program, then 3.81 for the Specialist program, 3.70 for the Professional program, 3.82 for the Bachelor program and 3.75 for the Diploma program. In this 164th graduation period, there were 24 scholarship recipients from 9 scholarship providers.
"We congratulate the graduates and of course thank the families of the graduates who have given their trust to Udayana University as a place for the Higher Education learning process. Hopefully this will be a good start for the career leaders of the graduates and younger siblings. Keep up the enthusiasm for "achieving all dreams in enriching the horizons of life in society," said the Vice Rector.
To obtain important information feedback from alumni for improvement, system development and management of higher education, including facilities, teaching and learning patterns, processes and services at Udayana University, the Vice Rector also expects the participation of graduates to participate in online tracer study activities which was carried out by Udayana University.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Unud, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D in his speech said that this graduation ceremony was the last academic event that was attended in pursuing a certain level of education at university. This is a form of Udayana University's responsibility to the Indonesian nation and state, especially in preparing quality and competitive human resources in the current global era and welcoming the golden future of the Indonesian nation in 2045.
In his speech, the Rector advised all graduates that graduation and the degrees they have achieved are not the end of everything but are the beginning of new challenges in life. Apart from that, as alumni, you are a representation of Udayana University in society, so the behavior of graduates in society will be a reflection of this campus. Therefore, he hopes that graduates will help maintain the good name of their alma mater by always thinking, saying and doing good things.
"We hope that you can apply your knowledge in your respective professions more responsibly and with quality. Continue to study, work hard intelligently and sincerely, and with an honest heart to maintain the good name of our alma mater. We hope that the knowledge you have gained can be implemented successfully "Good for the progress of society, nation and country," said the Rector of Unud.
They also believe that the graduation moment is a moment of happiness and success not only for the graduates but also for their parents, guardians and families. Through this opportunity, the Rector expressed his gratitude for the trust of the parents, guardians or families of the graduates in Udayana University to be able to provide the best education for their children. The great contribution and motivation from the family also helped encourage the graduates to reach this point.
Representative of graduates Gusti Ayu Made Terry Andryani, in his message, expressed his thanks to the Rector and leadership as well as lecturers, staff and all employees who have provided support and dedication in advancing education, research and service within the Udayana University environment. All of these contributions are very valuable provisions for developing oneself, broadening one's horizons and facing challenges in the future.
"This graduation is not the end of our journey and this is the first step to a bigger adventure in the wider world. We will face newer challenges, greater responsibilities and of course the opportunity to continue to grow.
