Rector of Unud Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng.,IPU in his remarks said that at the end of 2022, Udayana University had also inaugurated eight Professors. If added to the number of eight professors who were inaugurated today, then currently Unud has 193 professors so that the percentage of professors owned by Unud in 2023 is 14 percent. This also shows that Udayana University has also exceeded the target from the Ministry regarding the minimum number of professors at a university, which is 10 percent. This position does not mean safe, because there will be retired professors. It is hoped that this condition will encourage lecturers who have held the positions of Lector and Head Lector and hold a Doctoral Degree or Doctoral Degree to immediately proceed to Professorship.
Starting from the data owned by the HR Department, currently Unud has 1,385 PNS Educators and 122 BLU Permanent Lecturers. There are 370 Head Lectors equivalent to (27 percent), 500 people holding the position of Lector or equivalent to (36 percent); Expert Assistants 194 people (14 percent) and 128 people with the status of Teaching Staff or equivalent (9 percent). Based on these data, it is known that Unud has 192 Lectors and 247 Principal Lectors who already have doctoral degrees.
"Hopefully today's Professorial inauguration will also inspire other academics to become Professors soon. With a large enough number of Head Lecturers, it means that we have the potential to increase the number of Professors at Udayana University. Of course, with will and hard work, they will surely being able to achieve the position of Professor and this will certainly make Unud's presence in society more recognized and have a positive impact on improving quality and will further encourage Unud to achieve the dream of becoming a World Class University," said the Rector of Unud.
While Secretary of the Unud Professor Forum Prof. Dr. drh. Nyoman Sadra Dharmawan, MS, representing the Head of the Forum, in his remarks said that formally his party had handed over forum member cards to the eight professors to jointly enter the forum. Because this forum was formed as a means for professors who might want to convey their ideas or personal opinions to the Chancellor, they can be conveyed through this forum. It is hoped that the presence of these eight professors will improve the quality of education and teaching, research and publication as well as community service at Udayana University. This is in line with the transformation of Unud which is currently entering the phase at the ministry of becoming a university with a legal entity. Through this opportunity, his party also congratulated the inaugurated Professor. Let's get used to adapting to progress and artificial intelligence.
