The Student Senate of the Faculty of Humanities Udayana University Holds a National Seminar on "Characters Reinforcement in the Society Era 5.0"
The National Seminar led by the Student Senate of the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University (Unud) in 2022 with the theme "Characters Reinforcement in the Society Era 5.0" was carried out in a hybrid manner from the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Jimbaran Campus, Friday (9/9/2022).
This seminar presented the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia as a keynote speaker and several other speakers, namely I Made Andi Arsana, ST, ME., Ph.D, Esther Natalia, Ni Made Satya Risma Dewi and Nuwahidiah. The seminar was opened by the Rector of Unud and also coupled with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Udayana University and the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection.
This National Seminar is an annual work program of the Student Senate of the Faculty of Humanities which is specifically addressed by field I, namely the fields of Individual Reasoning, Science and Research. This seminar is aimed at increasing the interest of participants to know what Era of Society 5.0 is, sharing information about character building in Era of Society 5.0 and adding insight into the knowledge and experiences presented by the speakers. This was conveyed by the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Ni Putu Githa Cahyani Pratiwi in her report.
Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Unud, Dr. Made Sri Satyawati, SS., M. Hum, said that this seminar was the first to be associated with the Faculty of Humanities Anniversary and Udayana University Anniversary. He hoped that this seminar would become the forerunner of a national seminar that was not only attended by several universities but all Faculty of Humanities students in Indonesia. Besides that, it is hoped that it can open students' horizons in understanding how important an academic pulpit event like this is to gain scientific insight. Furthermore, the Dean also said that in this activity the MoU was also signed to optimize the role of the Tridharma of Higher Education in empowering women and protecting children and independent learning between Unud and the Ministry of PPPA. Where the goal is to establish cooperation in the scope of women's empowerment and child protection. This MoU will also be equipped with PKS which can not only be carried out by the Faculty of Humanities, but also other faculties within Unud.
While the Rector of Unud Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng.,IPU, in the activity which was attended by the Minister of PPPA, conveyed a glimpse of Udayana University which this year is 60 years old. This anniversary will also invite the Minister of Education and Culture to give a scientific oration and the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs to receive the Udayana Award. The Rector also informed that Unud is currently in the form of a BLU and will move to PTN BH in order to improve educational services to students.
It is hoped that Unud can become the 17th PTN BH, so that the development of Unud is not too far from other universities that already have PTN BH, with one of the characteristics of Unud that it has the most foreign students in Indonesia.
Through a national seminar that presents the Minister of PPPA as a keynote speaker and several other speakers, it is hoped that it can complement student competencies not only at FCS but all students at Unud. The Minister of PPPA is expected to provide direction to build our human resources to be more competitive in society when they graduate. Then the Rector also hoped that with the signed MoU, his party could send students to take part in the MBKM program at the PPPA Ministry. Besides that, there are also several research centers that might be able to implement the MoU signed by both parties.
The Minister of PPPA RI I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati or familiarly called Bintang Puspayoga in his material conveyed the various efforts made to optimize the potential of women and children by the Ministry of PPPA, which focused on 5 (five) priorities according to the direction of the President and regarding the Law on Sexual Violence. include (1) Increasing women's empowerment in entrepreneurship; (2) Increasing the role of mothers in children's education; (3) Reduction of violence against women and children; (4) Reduction of child labor and (5) Prevention of child marriage.
Minister Bintang also expressed his appreciation to the Rector of Udayana University who has made efforts to prevent sexual violence on campus. It is hoped that the various efforts made can help victims to get their rights.
