Udayana University Assists in Establishing the Faculty of Medicine, Semen Indonesia International University (UISI) Gresik

Udayana University (Unud) collaborated with the International University of Semen Indonesia (UISI) which was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by both parties in the Language Room of Unud Rectorate Building, Jimbaran Campus, Monday (06/06/2022). The signing ceremony was attended by the Rector of Udayana University, the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information, the Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Study Program Coordinator and the Upiks Team. Meanwhile, from UISI, the Rector and Vice Rector and their team were present.

Rector of Unud Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng.,IPU in this meeting conveyed a glimpse of the existence of Unud which in September 2022 was 60 years old, and currently has 13 Faculties, Postgraduates and 118 Study Programs, almost 70 percent of which have very good accreditation. Several infrastructures are currently being built to support the decentralization of the Tridharma implementation at the Bukit Jimbaran Campus which will take place in stages.

The collaboration between Udayana University and UISI will be followed up by the Faculty of Medicine through a Cooperation Agreement. In this initial stage, the Faculty of Medicine supports the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine at UISI. The Rector thanked Faculty of Medicine of Unud to be able to contribute as a faculties to foster the establishment of Faculty of Medicine of UISI. With its superior accreditation status, Unud can carry out this collaboration and Faculty of Medicine of UISI can be born soon, so that further guidance can be carried out. His party is ready to support cooperation between Unud through Faculty of Medicine and UISI, and in the future it will also be expanded to other faculties related to the Tridharma of Higher Education cooperation. Currently, we already have the legality, namely the Memorandum of Understanding and it remains to be followed up by various work units.

While the Rector of UISI Prof. Dr. Ing. Herman Sasongko conveyed that this collaboration helped UISI in establishing the Faculty of Medicine and Medical Professional Education. Thank you to Unud for collaborating with UISI. His party has received several inputs and recommendations to establish cooperation with Unud in establishing the Faculty of Medicine at UISI. In the process of its establishment, it requires a supervisory faculty from an accredited university and from the proximity of the demographics the choice falls to Unud. According to him, Faculty of Medicine of Unud is very suitable to be a coach.

Semen Indonesia International University (UISI) is a university under the auspices of the Indonesian cement group. After the signing of this MoU, it was continued with the discussion of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the Unud Medical Faculty Team which negotiated the points in the PKS, especially related to the main needs such as curriculum, infrastructure, human resources needed in the establishment of the UISI Faculty of Medicine.
