National Seminar "Protection of Traditional Cultural Works as a Source of Creative Economy" MIH Study Program, Faculty of Law Udayana University
The Master of Law Study Program, Faculty of Law, Udayana University held a National Seminar "Protection of Traditional Cultural Works as One of the Sources of Creative Economy". The seminar took place online through the Unud and Offline webex application at the Batukaru Room Inna Sindhu Beach Hotel, Wednesday (11/18/2020). The seminar can also be watched on Live Streaming Youtube Udayana TV and the Faculty of Law TV.
The seminar presented three speakers, namely Prof. Dr. Agus Sardjono, SH., MH, Dr. Sayu Ketut Sutrisna Dewi, SE., MM., Ak and Prof. Dr. Ni Ketut Supasti Dharmawan, SH., M.Hum., LLM and as moderator Dr. I Gusti Ayu Mas Rwa Jayantiari, SH., M.Kn. Also attending directly at this seminar were the Deans of the Faculty of Law, the Deputy Deans and the Koorprodi and invited guests.
This activity was opened by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information Prof. IB Wyasa Putra represents the Rector of Unud. In his remarks the Vice Rector said that Professor Adam Smith and classical British economic figures left the world community with knowledge about the factors of production and economic resources that economic resources consist of natural resources, human resources and capital, but society. the nations of the East offer us another knowledge that economic resources also include the human mind and thinking capacity.
The economic resources that we have been referring to lately are even sustainable resources and are unlimited resources. The more extensively he is explored, the richer he is and the deeper he is dug the more infinite he is. This second resource takes various forms, such as culture and other creative works. In the 1990s the World Trade Organization gave full recognition of intellectual property as a commodity and the rights to intellectual property were given protection through legal schemes and policies (Trade Related Aspect of Intellectual Property Rights). However, as carefully as the regulation is carried out, there are still various aspects of the problem that are independent of the scope of the legal draft. The seminar held today is a continuation of the important efforts carried out continuously by various experts, research centers, and universities, to strengthen recognition of intellectual property as a trade product and also as an effort to clarify and reinforce efforts to protect the rights of that intellectual property. I believe that the presence of speakers who are competent in their fields at this seminar will make a major contribution to these problem-solving efforts.
Through this opportunity the Vice Rector also appreciated the Udayana University MIH Study Program for taking the initiative in strengthening the protection of this property right, as well as to the Dean of the Faculty of Law and all ranks, speakers and participants who had taken the time to participate in the Seminar this. It is hoped that the academic forum held today will provide useful results that meet our common expectations.
