UNUD AND UWA RETURN EXTENSION MOU
Jimbaran - Udayana University and The University of Western Australia (UWA) again extended their collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on October 22, 2018 together with the implementation of the International Conference on Science, Technology and Humanities (ICoSTH) at The Patra Jasa Hotel, Tuban, Bali.
Previously, the Unud delegation had visited UWA, Perth on 8-10 October. The visit coordinated by the Director of the Unud Postgraduate Program and several Faculty Deans has discussed several opportunities for technical cooperation by both parties as well as discussions on the organizational structure and management of Postgraduate since UWA has a Graduate Board that is responsible for monitoring performance of graduate schools and their quality (Postgraduate quality assurance). The Unud delegation also had the opportunity to visit campus facilities that could be an inspiration in campus development at Unud, including Greenhouse facilities, Laboratories, sports facilities, campus dormitory facilities (dormitory-University Hall consisting of 1000 rooms) and guest houses for academic guests (Forest Hall), campus park and campus forest.
The Parties also plan to hold a Short course / Master Class with the topic of "Science and Its Communication" for 2 weeks carried out by Postgraduate, Unud, by bringing in Professors from UWA, namely Prof. David Lindsay, Prof. Phil Vercoe and Prof. Graeme Martin, and attended by 20 Unud Lecturers and Postgraduate students (through a selection process held by Unud). Proposals are being compiled to be submitted to the Crawford Fund. Alternatively, funding from Unud. Implementation target: July 2019. This short course is expected to be carried out regularly every year, with topics according to the needs of the parties. Besides that, other academic collaborations include visiting, research and staff and student exchange.
The Unud delegation also had the opportunity to visit several facilities owned and had the opportunity to learn about plant arrangement, landscape for the development of Unud's campus parks and forests. From this collaboration the future follow-up will be carried out, among others, the holding of a short course / master class with the topic of "Science and Its Communication" for two weeks to be held at the Postgraduate Building by presenting speakers from the UWA in addition to conducting collaborative research and staff and student exchange.
