REKTOR UNUD AND PANGDAM IX UDAYANA LEPAS 3.426 STUDENTS OF PPM KKN

Jimbaran - Udayana University released 3,426 students in the 2018 PPM Period Real Work Course (KKN) in 2018 on the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Bukit Jimbaran Campus. Thousands of students from 13 Faculties within the university are released by the Rector, Prof. Ir. Dr. dr. A A. Raka Sudewi, Sp.S (K) together with Pangdam IX Udayana, Maj. Gen. Benny Susianto, S.IP. Students who follow KKN will be distributed to 170 villages in 8 regencies in Bali Province. The Regional Commander IX of Udayana in the release ceremony provided briefing which focused on the resistance of the Republic of Indonesia from inside and outside to the undermining of radicalism and the dangers of drugs.

Rector of Unud, Prof. A.A Raka Sudewi in his speech said that KKN is one of the compulsory intra-curricular programs in each academic year for students who combine the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, namely Education, Research and Community Service. The obligation to participate in KKN is also one of the graduation requirements for students before ending their studies at Udayana University. The KKN program which is held for 1 month and 1 week with the programs implemented includes empowering rural communities through the implementation of the thematic KKN Mental Revolution, thematic KKN, thematic settlement and KKN infrastructure, empowering community learning according to the existing village potential.

Through KKN, it is hoped that it can encourage students' awareness of various community problems and make it a learning material so as to be able to produce true leaders in the future. It is expected that students can learn from the community and vice versa the community can also learn from students, so that this can be used as learning to develop the intelligence of the heart in addition to brain intelligence. The Chancellor hopes that through this KKN activity Unud students will be able to become qualified leaders, have high social sensitivity and have closeness to the village community.

The same thing also conveyed by Chairman of LPPM Unud, Prof. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja who hopes that Unud students are able to maintain the name of the alma mater and are able to transfer knowledge to the community in helping to overcome the problems faced by the village government. (HM)
