FOLLOW UP COOPERATION WITH GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY, AUSTRALIA, UNUD HELD A WORKSHOP

Bukit Jimbaran - Udayana University in collaboration with Griffith University held a seminary and workshop which titled "Coastal Hazard and Conservation Issues and Opportunities for the Bali Province" on Thursday (06/07/2017) at Nusa Room Rectorate Building Udayana University Bukit, Jimbaran. The workshop presented Marcello Sano, PhD, Fellow Researcher from Grifith Center for Coastal Management, Cities Research Institute, Griffith University, Australia as a speaker. This workshop is intended to identify problems and create opportunities in the conservation of coastal areas of Bali Island.

The seminar and workshop was opened by Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information of Udayana University, Prof. Drs. I Made Suastra, Ph.D., and was attended by Representatives of the Consulate General of Australia Bali, Academician from Udayana University, Representative of Academician from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha, representatives from Regency / Municipal Government and Bali Province such as BPSPL Denpasar, Dit Polairud, Bali Province, Department of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, besides that also attended by some Non Government Organization (NGO) which active in environment that is Reef Check, TCEC, NORF, CTC and MSP.

Prof. Made Suastra conveyed that the workshop was an implementation of cooperation between Unud with Griffith University, especially in the field of marine. Through this workshop is expected to motivate the researchers lecturers to seek research funds through various international grants so as to generate research proposals that are beneficial to coastal areas.(PR)
