Unud Launching “Institute For Research and Community Service Journals”
Denpasar (03/05/2017) - Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Udayana University held “Launching Institute for Research and Community Service” took place in Theatre Room of Medical Faculty Campus Sudirman. The 10 International Journal are published by Institute for Research and Community Service Unud, some of them are, Advances in Tropical Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences, Journal of Food Security and Agriculture, Journal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Journal of a Sustainable Global South, Journal of Health Sciences and Medicine, Journal of Materials Engineering and Processing Technology, Journal of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Built Environment, Advances in Renewable Energy Technology, Journal of Electrical, Electronics and Informatics, and Udayana Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities. This activity was attended by The Deans, Director of Postgraduate Program, Professor, Jornal Editors, and Research lecturer from the proposed PNBP Grants Year 2017 that has been registered online through the LPPM website. The total number of the participants which attended the activity are ± 200 academician people from some of faculties in the Udayana University environment.
The head of LPPM Unud, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng in his report conveyed that with the launching of these 10 journals will be the publication media as a forum for the research results of lecturers in the environment of Udayana University. In the future 10 of these journal will be pushed into indexed international journals. With the issuance of Permenristek Dikti number 20 of 2017 requires the Professor and Head Lecturer to do the publication which in October will be evaluated. Prof. Nyoman Gde Antara also submitted 10 journals are devoted to the field of research and for the field of devotion to the manuscripts made the lecturers will be published in Udayana Mengabdi Magazine which has been published since 2016. Furthermore, Prof. Nyoman Gde Antara also mentioned four things needed to realize Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, among others (1) Commitment and consistency of fund, (2) Support of research infrastructure, (3) Publication Media, and (4) Cooperation with third party.
Rector of Unud which is represented by Deputy Rector for Student Affairs of Unud, Dr. I Nyoman Suyatna, SH.MH in his opening speech conveyed the presence of this journal will be very useful for all Udayana University's academic community. As an academic who devotes knowledge in higher education is inseparable from the obligations in Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi which requires the existence of research and community service. The head of the university in this case has a commitment in budgeting for research enhanced from year to year. Furthermore, Nyoman Suyatna conveyed beside developing science, through publication also can give protection to one's creative work because it can minimize duplication. It is hoped that this journal can be a media for the development of science especially research field.
On the same occasion, the symbolic handover was given to the launching of 10 international journals to the Deputy Rector for Student Affairs by the Chairman of LPPM Unud. This activity was also coupled with the presentation of Prof. Dr. Ir Komang Gede Wiryawan from IPB with material "Functions and Benefits of International Journal in Academic Career Development". As a follow up of Udayana University cooperation with Northern Illinois University, USA, the event had the opportunity to attend Andrea Katalin Molnar, Ph.D as Guest Lecture who deepens the field of International Journal writing by delivering "Issues and Obstcles for Publishing International Journals: Perspective of Senior Scholars and Editors".
