Udayana University (Unud) held Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Admission Selection of Foreign Students
Denpasar, on March 18, 2017 Udayana University (Unud) held Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Registration, Admission Selection and Online Registration of Foreign Students in Courtroom 4th Floor Faculty of Medicine Udayana University Campus Sudirman. This activity was opened by the Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. drh. I Made Damriyasa, MS followed by the Vice Dean of the Faculty, Chairman of the CIP, Chairman of USDI, Head of Cooperation and Public Relations and the administrator of foreign students in Unud. FGD is implemented within the framework of shared perception on the mechanism management of foreign students in the Udayana University. Present as the guest speaker was Head Section of International Cooperation, Directorate of Higher Education Institutional Kemenristekdikti, Adhrial Refaddin, SIP, MPP and Head of Communication Section Immigration Sub Denpasar, Ayuningtyas Sari Bareta, A.Md.Im., SH.
Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs in his speech conveyed that this discussion devoted to the accountability of the implementation of the learning process of admission to the output of foreign students to comply with the applicable rules. Related admission of foreign students in Unud grouped into 2 Degree program consisting of Undergraduate programs and Postgraduate programs; and Nondegree Program, for short course and internship. In receiving the graduate program in Unud refers to Permenristekdikti No. 126 of 2016, it regulates the procedures for admission of foreign students such as academic qualifications related equivalency diploma and special requirements such as the number of students which 10% for doctoral and 20% for non-degree and other requirements of immigration, such as a permit stay and health insurance, comply with the laws and legislation Indonesia during the learning process and the most important is to have the cost of tuition. Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs hopes after this FGD process, it is expected admission of foreign students in Unud in accordance with applicable regulations and set up a team working to develop a Standard Operating Procedure admission of foreign students.
Adhrial Refaddin, SIP, MPP, Head Section of International Cooperation, Directorate of Higher Education Institutional Kemenristekdikti in a presentation delivered to the Ministry which is focused on preparing for college to improve its quality. Still a few colleges that are able to manage the International Program, from 30 the assistance provided, 25 misplaced. Language barrier is one of the problems that still exist that have been addressed by the language center in addition to the bureaucracy of obtaining a license to learn quite a long time. One aspect that has done little to increase the number of foreign students is to ease the bureaucratic process. Currently the Ministry already has an online application for permits study that has been done since 2016.
Head of Communication Section Immigration Sub Denpasar, Ayuningtyas Sari Bareta, A.Md.Im., SH explained in her presentation about immigration residence which permit the foreign students refers to Law No. 6 of 2011 on immigration. In performing its duties the Immigration use 3 Basic Laws, namely Law No. 6 of 2011, Regulation No. 31 Year 2013, the government regulations of Legal and Human Rights Affairs No. 27 of 2014. Every foreigner coming into Indonesia must have a residence permit from the appropriate immigration visa which is owned. Ayuningtyas also describes the types of visa and residence permit that can be owned by foreigners as well as a handling mechanism. The visa also can be made online by following the procedures and requirements.
In the discussion which is moderated by the Chairman of the CIP Unud, Ibu Sri Harta Mimba discussed about technical discussion about obtaining a visa and policies of the ministry, as well as the integration of data from the ministry of foreign students to the university and web services.(
