Udayana University Participates in ASTA School Campus for National Waste Awareness Day 2025
Udayana University (Unud) participated in the ASTA Campus School activity in order to commemorate National Waste Awareness Day 2025 on Saturday (15/3/2025) at the Postgraduate Hall of Udayana University, Denpasar. This activity involved three ministries including the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Technology and the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education which was carried out in a hybrid manner with activities centered at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Banjarmasin.
There were 8 (eight) State Universities participating, one of which was Udayana University which carried out activities at the Postgraduate Hall of Udayana University, Denpasar, attended by the Deputy for Pollution Control and Environmental Damage, Dr. Drs. Rasio Ridhosani, M.Com., MPM, Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information, Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika, and Head of the Bali Environmental Control Center Ni Nyoman Santi, ST., MSc and participants consisting of elementary, middle, high school students and college students. Other State Universities that are also involved in this activity include Brawijaya University, Syiah Kuala University, Hasanuddin University, Cendrawasih University, Pattimura University, and Nusa Cendana University.
The launch of the ASTA Campus and School National Waste Care Action 2025 program was opened by the Minister of Environment and Head of the Environmental Control Agency (KLH/BPLH), Dr. Hanif Faisol Nurofiq together with the Deputy Minister of Education and Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. and the Deputy Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education Prof. Atip Latipulhayat, Ph.D. who were present in person at ULM.
As one of the eight host campuses, Udayana University plays an active role in supporting this environmental movement. The involvement of various universities in this activity is expected to increase the awareness of the younger generation towards the importance of waste management and environmental sustainability.
Through this participation, Udayana University shows its commitment in supporting environmental programs and cross-institutional collaboration to create a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
