Rector of Udayana University Signs PKS with Pangdam IX Udayana, Synergizes in Various Fields

Jimbaran - Udayana University (Unud) has collaborated with Kodam IX Udayana which was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) by the Rector of Unud with Pangdam IX Udayana at the Bangsa Room, Jimbaran Campus Rectorate Building, Wednesday (5/3/2025). The signing of the PKS is a valuable momentum in strengthening collaboration between the academic world and the military in order to realize closer synergy in various fields.

Rector of Unud Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana in his speech expressed his highest appreciation to the Commander of Kodam IX Udayana and all his staff for their extraordinary support and cooperation in realizing this initiative. Udayana University as a higher education institution is committed to implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely education, research and community service.

"We realize that the world of education cannot run alone, but must work in synergy with various parties, including defense institutions such as Kodam IX/Udayana. The cooperation we are establishing today aims to strengthen synergy in the fields of education, culture, science and technology," said the Rector of Unud.

It was further stated that specifically, this collaboration includes various strategic programs, including National Defense Education and Training for students, Public Lectures from the TNI Commander, Kasad, and Military Commander IX/Udayana, disciplinary training for new students, training in IT, culture and Balinese customs for Kodam IX/Udayana soldiers, as well as the implementation of moral and ethical education.

He also believes that the collaboration carried out will provide great benefits for both parties, especially in forming the character of students who have a nationalist spirit, a national outlook, and have discipline and mental toughness in facing future challenges.

Meanwhile, Pangdam IX Udayana, Major General TNI Muhammad Zamroni, in his speech said that up to now the TNI has made MoUs with various Ministries and Institutions such as the Ministry of Health in terms of social services, with the BKKBN in promoting family planning and stunting, with the Ministry of Agriculture in terms of food security, with Pertamina and so on, as well as with Udayana University for cooperation in terms of national defense, discipline and so on in utilizing idle capacity by the state by utilizing the Army from the past until now, where in its implementation there are also many pros and cons. Hopefully the signing of this PKS can create synergy with Udayana University. 

In accordance with the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, that Indonesia must become a country that is 'gemah ripah loh jinawi peaceful order kerta raharja', this is clear. What the government is currently initiating is extraordinary, if it can run well then Indonesia will become a great country.

Through this opportunity, Pangdam IX Udayana invited the audience to be united and unified, if there are differences, convey them in good, polite ways in accordance with university norms as a place to shape student character and thank Udayana University students who continue to speak out but also maintain extraordinary Balinese ethics.

"Udayana University and our Kodam are one chemistry, let's unite steps, unite vision, unite movement for the progress of Indonesia," said Commander IX Udayana, closing his remarks.
