National Symposium and Workshop in Anti-Aging Medicine 2025, Update Comprehensive Management in Anti-Aging Medicine

Denpasar - National Symposium and Workshop in Anti-Aging Medicine (NASWAAM) 2025 was held again at the Ballroom of the Prime Plaza Hotel Sanur, 14 to 16 February 2025. NASWAAM 2025 took the theme Update Comprehensive Management in Anti-Aging Medicine. This activity was opened by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information representing the Rector of Udayana University (Unud). NASWAAM 2025 also presents speakers from Taiwan, namely Dr. Tom K.C. Kuo, Ph.D.

Chairman of the Committee Prof. Wimpie Pangkahila in his report said that NASWAAM 2025 is the 15th, the first being in 2011. Through this opportunity, he expressed his gratitude for the support of sponsors and participants who supported the implementation of this NASWAAM and hoped that this activity could provide new input, new knowledge for participants and could be applied to patients and themselves.

"One thing that I probably want to convey and what is also important is how we apply it to ourselves, so that we can set an example for our patients, here, these are the principles of anti-aging medicine that can support our quality of life as children of the nation," he said.

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Unud Prof. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih in his speech expressed his appreciation to Prof. Wimpie and the Team who have been able to maintain the existence of NASWAAM for the last 15 years. The large number of participants who attended shows that the perception in society is that one of humans' fears before dying is getting old. So practically we also see that there are now a lot of service centers that focus on anti-aging in society. This shows that the concept of anti-aging is so widespread in society.

On the other hand, in anti-aging medicine there is the concept of medical science, and when we talk about medical concepts, the first thing that must be considered in carrying out medical practice is patient safety. Then secondly, it must have an appropriate theoretical basis in medical science so that it can explain the anti-aging concept scientifically to the public.

"We at medical education institutions certainly have an obligation to increase the understanding of colleagues who will later practice implementing this anti-aging concept in society to understand the basics of scientific medical concepts so that what we do, what we provide to the community is already evidence-based. That is the most important thing from our side as a medical education institution," he said.

The concept of anti-aging is not only the concept of physical polishing, but also how to maintain the physiological functions of all the body's organs in a youthful state so that it can support the physical appearance to appear younger.

Meanwhile the Vice Rector Prof.  I Putu Gede Adiatmika in his speech conveyed the theme, namely Comprehensive Management in Anti-Aging Medicine, which is a very good theme because it handles anti-aging from various perspectives and is interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary, how to implement anti-aging medicine to the community with a comprehensive approach. He expressed his appreciation to the Anti Aging Medicine Specialty Study Program which has maintained and developed this anti aging medicine.

"The challenge for the future is how we can ensure that the scientific field of anti-aging medicine becomes a field of science that is supported by research, comprehensive research and can then be implemented, can be implemented in a downstream process of research results to the community," said the Vice Rector.

His party supports efforts to always increase the role of anti-aging medicine at Udayana University to become one of the centers of excellence in efforts to contribute to society through anti-aging medicine.
