LAM-PTKes Assessor Team Visits Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University in the Context of Reaccreditation Field Assessment
Denpasar - The Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (Unud) was visited by the Assessor Team from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) in the context of the Study Program Reaccreditation Field Assessment, Friday (31/1/2025). The assessors present were Dr. Dr. Muhamad Arifin Parenrengi, Sp.BS(K) and dr. Rudiyuwono Raharjo, M.Si. Med. Sp.B., Sp.BA.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Unud Prof. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih said that accreditation is a very important process as the implementation of a quality assurance system to ensure that all Tridharma processes are implemented in accordance with established quality standards. This is important because it is hoped that it can produce competent graduates who have qualities that meet the demands of graduate users. Even though we have implemented an internal quality assurance system, it is not enough because there is often an element of subjectivity, therefore an external assessment is needed, in this case the LAM-PTKes which will be able to provide a more objective assessment.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Unud Prof. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja in his speech conveyed that one of the leadership's commitments in ensuring the quality of educational services is to carry out quality assurance both internally and externally. The internal quality assurance system policy now implements risk-based quality assurance to encourage accelerated improvement and targeted quality improvement.
University leaders are committed to following the external quality assurance process through certification and accreditation at both national and international levels. University leaders view accreditation as very important for the sustainability of educational institutions in carrying out and achieving their stated vision and mission. Accreditation is a form of assessment to guarantee the quality and quality of education and graduates.
"Hopefully the presence of the assessors can help us take a closer look at the condition of the study program in order to increase and improve the quality of education at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, in this case, especially the Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program, which can achieve Superior accreditation like 20 other study programs at the Faculty of Medicine Udayana University," said the Vice Rector.
Meanwhile, the Assessor's representative, Dr. Muhamad Arifin Parenrengi on this occasion said that through this activity his party would discuss with the study program management regarding matters found in the field and several documents would be traced.
