Udayana University Holds Batch 3 Independent Entrepreneurship Program Expo and MBKM Festival in 2024
Denpasar - Udayana University (Unud) held the 3rd Generation of the Independent Entrepreneurial Program (WMK) Expo and the 2024 Independent Campus Learning Festival (MBKM) at the Green Open Space (RTH) Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, Friday (13/12/2024). The activity, which was opened by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs at Udayana University, lasted for two days and featured 62 booths. Apart from exhibiting products, this activity also held a talk show about business development and proposing business legality as well as a workshop.
Chief Executive Dr. I Ketut Sardiana said that this Expo was part of a series of implementation of the Unud WMK program where participants had the opportunity to carry out market validation of products or prototypes that were successfully initiated while participating in the 2024 WMK program at Udayana University. This year, Unud was again selected as one of the 38 Universities Implementing WMK in 2024 for the third time.
This year's WMK program was attended by 306 students from 6 universities, namely the Indonesian Art Institute Denpasar, Dwijendra University, Surabaya State University, Panji Sakti Singaraja University, Udayana University and Warmadewa University. Of this number, 177 people came from Unud. This program involves 10 teaching staff, 30 mentors from UKM, and 15 Entrepreneurial Coaches from practitioners as well as 30 field supervisors.
"The Expo activities are the final part of the implementation of the WMK program, after previously participants took part in learning, onboarding and mentorship, preparing business plans and prototypes in UKM, Bootcamp, and business development incubation until the last day, validating products and markets through Expo activities," he said.
The Chief Executive of the WMK Program Center, Gamaliel Alexander Emil Waney, in his speech representing the Director of Belmawa online, said that the WMK program provides opportunities for students to develop themselves into young entrepreneurs through learning at implementing universities. He appreciated the hard work of the implementing universities as well as the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the students participating in this WMK program. He hopes that students can continue to apply the knowledge they have learned both through the classroom and in direct practice with CEOs, Practitioners and UKM during the last semester and can become a provision for the future.
Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya in his speech said that this Expo was a concrete manifestation of Udayana University's commitment to producing a generation that is not only academically intelligent, but also creative and innovative in the field of entrepreneurship. In the current era of globalization and rapid technological development, entrepreneurial ability has become one of the skills that is really needed.
"I really appreciate this program and hope that through the MBKM Expo and Festival activities it will be able to provide valuable experience to equip students to become young entrepreneurs in the future," said the Vice Rector.
Through this opportunity, the Vice Rector also expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the 2024 Independent Entrepreneurship Program Partner Universities, faculty and study program leaders, the Independent Entrepreneurship program management team, and students participating in the program who have supported the implementation of this program. Hopefully the 2024 WMK EXPO and Festival can be successful and provide great benefits for all participants.
