BAN-PT Assessors Conduct Field Assessments in the Undergraduate Legal Studies Study Program, Faculty of Law, Udayana University
Denpasar - The National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) Assessor Team visited the Faculty of Law, Udayana University (Unud) in the context of a field assessment of the accreditation of the Bachelor of Law study program, Monday (2/12/2024). The BAN-PT Assessor Team present consisted of Prof. Dr. Angkasa, SH., M.Hum and Prof. Dr. Husen Alting, SH., MH and Eko Pramono, M.Kom as Assistant Assessors.
Present at the opening of the assessment were the Rector of Unud, Chair of LP3M, Chair of LPPM, Secretary of Libraries, USDI, Dean of the Faculty of Law along with staff and Study Program Coordinators, Professors, Taskforce Team, and other guests.
Rector of Unud Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana in his speech said that the Faculty of Law is one of the oldest faculties at Udayana University which is currently able to provide legal education at bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels on an ongoing basis. The Faculty of Law students at the undergraduate level are quite large, on average there are 500 new students every year and it is the only undergraduate study program at the Faculty of Law. Apart from that, currently the Faculty of Law is also in the top ten best in Indonesia according to the Scimago Institutions Ranking in December 2023.
"We at Udayana University really support the educational process here and are very concerned about the quality of education because that is our core business at Udayana University. We also routinely carry out the SPMI process which is of course institutionally supervised by the Learning Development and Quality Assurance Institute, then "In the faculty there is also a Learning Development and Quality Assurance Unit," said the Rector.
The Rector also said that every year an Internal Quality Audit (AMI) process is carried out which has been reported in the BAN-PT accreditation and assessor documents. Apart from that, students from the Faculty of Law have also contributed a lot to Udayana University's achievements through extracurricular and co-curricular activities. Then, regarding human resources, yesterday there was also the inauguration of two Professors at the Faculty of Law and of course they are expected to be ready to support and ensure the continuity of the quality and quality of learning at the Faculty of Law. Then what is very encouraging is that from its founding until now, alumni of the Faculty of Law have spread throughout Indonesia and one of them has become a judge at the Constitutional Court.
The Rector hopes that the Task Force Team and other related parties can provide actual data so that assessors can take the best possible photos and are of course expected to achieve superior results.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Assessor Team, Prof. Angkasa in his speech said that his party was assigned by BAN-PT to carry out a field assessment at the Legal Science Study Program, Faculty of Law, Udayana University in order to validate the data that had been submitted. His party has carried out an assessment of the adequacy assessment and asked for honesty and openness in implementing this assessment. As assessors, they respect the code of ethics and will carry out the stages in accordance with existing SOPs and regulations.
