Diktiristek Public Relations Working Meeting, Increase Public Relations Competence in Public Communication Strategy

Bali - The Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology (Ditjendiktiristek) held a Public Relations Working Meeting (Raker) and Socialization of the 2024 Diktiristek Public Relations Award at The Trans Resort Hotel Bali, 19 - 21 June 2024. This activity was attended by representatives of State Universities (PTN ) as well as the Higher Education Service Institute (LLDikti) in the field of public relations and from Udayana University attended by Public Relations together with the Head of the Public Communication Unit and the Team.

Rector of Udayana University Prof. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana and also the Head of LLDikti Region VIII and PTN leaders in Bali also had the opportunity to attend this activity which was opened by the Director General of Diktiristek.

In his speech the Director General of Diktistek Prof. Abdul Haris said that Public Relations has an important role as a window for building reputation and branding. Updating the website as a university information window is also very important to improve the image. His presence in the Raker activities was also proof of his commitment to the importance of public relations.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Relations and Cooperation Working Team representing the Acting Secretary of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Yayat Hendrayana, said that this activity invited 76 Academic PTNs and 17 LLDikti with the theme "Creation, Collaboration and Synergy" with the hope that this working meeting could become a forum for strengthening collaboration and synergy in the transformation of higher education by continue the Independent Learning program. He also hopes that through this working meeting, they can produce a joint communication strategy to continue to accelerate public communication and Diktistek programs.

This working meeting also presented several speakers to improve the Public Relations competence of PTN and LLDikti including Managing Director Imogen PR Jojo S. Nugroho who delivered material on Crisis Communication, Deputy General Secretary I of Perhumas Fardila Astari with the topic Proactive Strategic Planning, General Chair of the Indonesian PR Company Association Sari Soegondo with topic of Building Relationships and Collaborating with Media in the Digital Era, Coordinator of Communication and Public Information Services of the KLIK Bureau of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Khoiria Oktaviani with the topic Connecting The Dots through Social Media and Digital Communication Consultant Rulli Nasrullah who presented material on Digital Communication Management.

The second day of the Working Meeting was filled with a communication strategy planning workshop with PESTEL (Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, and Legal) situation analysis as well as communication tactics using the PESO (Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned) model. This was then continued with the socialization of the Diktiristek Public Relations Award, where for 2024 there are 6 competition categories, namely Website Management, Press Release Management, Social Media Management, Agency Magazines, Most Popular Public Relations Person and Student Press.
