KUI Udayana University Implements Finalization and Socialization of POB for Regular Foreign Student Admissions at Masters and Doctoral Levels

The International Affairs Office (KUI) of Udayana University (Unud) carried out the Finalization and Socialization of POB (Standard Operational Procedures) for the Admission of Regular Foreign Students at Masters and Doctoral Levels at Udayana University, which took place at Jimbaran Bay Beach Resort & Spa Bali, (Tuesday, 23-24 October 2023). This socialization was attended by 27 participants, presenting as resource person Susilo, M.Pd., D.Ed., from Jakarta State University.

KUI Putu Ayu Coordinator Asty Senja Pratiwi, S.S., M.Hum, Ph.D in his report said that one of the factors of university internationalization is the large number of foreign students studying at the university. Currently there are many requests from foreign students to study and continue higher education at Unud. To accommodate this high level of interest, since the beginning of 2023 all relevant units at Unud have worked hard to prepare POB (Standard Operational Procedures) for Regular Foreign Student Admissions. Masters and Doctoral levels.

This POB guide can later be used as a basis and guide for new foreign students as well as a guideline for the selection committee later, so that the acceptance of foreign students can take place in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations. The hope is that with this POB, it will be able to increase the number of foreign students and speed up the internationalization process at Unud.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Unud Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP, in opening the event, said that in a World Class University, a university must think internationally and globally. Internationalization steps at Udayana University have begun, such as implementing international accreditation and certification and have been programmed periodically every year.

One important indicator towards internationalization is the presence of foreign students who can improve the international reputation and quality of a university. Apart from that, Indonesian students who study at Unud can also experience the international learning ecosystem and have international relationships. Hopefully this POB can increase the number of regular foreign students at master's and doctoral levels.

With this socialization activity, it is hoped that the Vice Deans for Academic Affairs at the Faculty at Udayana University who are present will be able to observe and provide input on the POB for accepting foreign students.
