TCI Faculty of Tourism Udayana University Presents a Choir in Front of the Heads of State of the Republic of Indonesia and China

The Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University was given the opportunity to take part in a series of welcoming the arrival of the Head of State of the People's Republic of China at Ngurah Rai Airport (14/11/2022) and the spousal activity of the Heads of State of the Republic of Indonesia and the People's Republic of China ( 16/11/2022). President Xi Jinping's arrival was welcomed by state leaders, the Governor of Bali, Balinese dancers, and also welcomed by 40 students from the Faculty of Tourism who wore traditional Indonesian costumes at Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, TCI also prepared a choral performance to fill in the spousal activity event in the G20 Presidency series. Members of this choir consist of 12 students from the Hospitality Management study program who are guided by instructors from the Tourism Confucius Institute for approximately one month to carry out training and preparation.

At the peak of the G20 Presidency event at The Apurva Kempinski Bali, students of the Faculty of Tourism at Udayana University under the Tourism Confucius Institute at Udayana University presented a choral performance with the song Meili de Suo Luo He, which means Bengawan Solo accompanied by sasando (East Nusa Tenggara's traditional musical instrument). . The students wore Balinese traditional clothing and sang in Mandarin and Indonesian before the First Lady of the People's Republic of China (Madame Peng Liyuan) and the First Lady of the Republic of Indonesia (Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo).

Madame Peng Liyuan and Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo really enjoyed the songs sung and gave their appreciation for the traditional Balinese clothes used. Not only enjoying the choir, Madame Peng Liyuan also communicated briefly with the students and encouraged them to continue working hard to learn Mandarin. He welcomes more young people from Indonesia to visit China, learn Chinese culture, and become ambassadors for China-Indonesia cooperation. The student members of the choir also had the opportunity to take pictures with Madame Peng Liyuan and Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo.
