FK Unud Expands Network Collaboration in Taiwan

 

Udayana University Faculty of Medicine expanded its international network by visiting the Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) in Taiwan. The visit of the Dean of FK Unud and the Udayana University Team was received by Dr. Shu-Wen Chang, vice president of FEMH. In his speech, Dr. Chang expressed his gratitude for the willingness of the Dean of FK and his team to see directly the health service facilities at FEMH from 13-17 December 2023. As a Type A Hospital which is also a Teaching Hospital in Taiwan, FEMH opens up opportunities for collaboration in the field of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education High with FK Unud and Health Services with RS Unud.

 

Apart from Dr. Chang, the Unud team was also received by Miss Jolene Huang (Chief of Strategic Planning Department), Dr. Kuang-Chau Tsai (Chief of Emergency Department), Dr. Yen-Ling Chiu (Chief of Medical Research Department) and the Strategic Planning Department Team, namely Miss Amber Tang, Mr. Gilang Putra Bahari, and Mr. Andreas Martinus.

 

Dean of FK Unud, Prof. Dr. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes expressed his gratitude for FEMH's trust in Udayana University and will follow up on the Unud Memorandum of Understanding with FEMH and collaborative activities between Study Programs at Udayana University. On this occasion, a Memorandum of Agreement was also signed by the Dean of FK Unud and the Director of Unud Hospital as a basis for implementing cooperation between both parties. Some collaborative activities that can be carried out include student exchange, staff exchange, joint research/publication, guest/visiting lecture, Collaboration Seminar/Workshop.

 

Apart from visiting FEMH, the Dean and his team also visited Far Eastone to see a telemedicine demonstration which really helps health services for people on remote islands. Telemedicine has received support from the Taiwan government and is used by many hospitals in Taiwan. Visits were also made to the Fire Department and Lanseed International Hospital. The course implementation uses a computer program that was designed independently by the Landseed Hospital IT Team so that it really helps students' understanding in preparing a more comprehensive diagnosis and therapy.

 

The follow-up to this visit was communication between the Study Program in the FK Unud Environment and the relevant departments at FEMH for the realization of activities that could be carried out in the field of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Apart from the Dean, the visit was also attended by the Deputy Dean for Academic and Planning Affairs, the Deputy Dean for Information and Student Affairs, the Coordinator of the Information Management and Cooperation Unit of FK Unud and the team from Unud Hospital.
