Udayana University Medical Faculty Students Again Make Achievements in the International Event

 

A proud achievement came from a student from the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, who became a Poster Presenter and Travel Grant Awardee at the 1st Thailand Hub of Talent for Cancer Immunotherapy International Meeting at King Chulalongkorn University Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand.

 

This achievement was achieved by:

1. I Gede Wikania Wira Wiguna

2. I Gede Krishna Arim Sadeva

3. Christo Timothy Mamangdean

4. Putu Mirah Wahyu Subagia Putri.

 

This event was attended by several countries with a total of 26 posters and 5 of them received travel grants. Of the total Travel Grant Awardees, the Udayana University delegation received 3 out of 5 travel grants to present their work.

 

Udayana University Faculty of Medicine team under the guidance of Dr. Dr. Urged Made Wihandani, M.Kes and dr. I Gede Putu Supadmanaba, M.Sc presented the efficacy and safety aspects of Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cell (CAR-T Cell) therapy as a cancer treatment.

 

Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cell (CAR-T Cell) is a cell-based cancer therapy and genetic modification that can make T cells express certain receptors that can target cancer cells. This CAR-T Cell based therapy could be a new breakthrough in cancer management considering the various challenges faced in treating cancer patients with conventional therapy today. Through this achievement, it is hoped that studies on CAR-T Cells in Indonesia, especially at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, will be carried out more intensively to advance research within the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
