Guest Lecture and Initiation of Cooperation Between FK Unud and Imperial College London

The Neurology Specialist Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University held a Guest Lecture with the topic "An Introduction to the Diagnosis and Management of Neuropathic Pain" at the 3rd Floor Hall, UNUD Postgraduate Building. (Thursday, 11/16/2023)

 

Moderated by Dr. dr. Tjokorda Istri Pramitasuri, M.Biomed., Sp.N., this guest lecture presented Prof. Andrew Rice, MB BS, MD, FRCP, FRCA, FFPMRCA, who is a professor of the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London, United Kingdom. This guest lecture was held to increase knowledge related to the diagnosis and management of neuropathic pain in daily practice which sometimes still finds many obstacles. 

 

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Udayana University Prof. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M. Kes., who in his speech said that the topic of pain is a topic that is being studied by various fields of science, so the presence of speakers who are experts in the field of "pain" will certainly provide deeper insight to the participants.

"By inviting experts from outside, it is hoped that our insights will be more open regarding what new things we can adopt for the development of neuropathic pain management in Indonesia to be more optimal," he said.

 

The participants of this guest lecture were students (residents) and lecturers in the Neoroligi Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.

 

After the Guest Lecture event, the Dean was accompanied by the Coordinator of the Neurology Specialist Study Program Dr. dr. Eka Widyadharma, M.Sc, Sp.N and UPIKS Coordinator Dr. dr. Ida Ayu Ika Wahyuniari, S.Ked., M.Kes., together with Prof. Andrew Rice continued the meeting by discussing the initiation of cooperation in the field of Tridharma of higher education between FK Unud and Imperial College London.
