Celebrating its 5th Anniversary, Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program of FK UNUD Provides Health Counseling and Services for the Elderly in Tabanan Regency


On Sunday, October 22, 2023, the Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University celebrated the 5th Anniversary of the Study Program as well as providing counseling and health services for the elderly at the Arts Building, I Ketut Maria, Tabanan in collaboration with the Wredha Sejahtera Foundation, Tabanan branch.


The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes, and attended by the Coordinator of the Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program, Prof. Dr. dr. Tjokorda Gde Bagus Mahadewa, S.Ked., M.Kes., Sp.BS (K), as well as teaching staff and education staff of the Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program at FK UNUD, all resident students of the Neurosurgery Specialist Study Program at FK UNUD along with a number of local officials and elderly members of the Tabanan branch of the Wredha Sejahtera Foundation.


The 5th Anniversary activity was opened by cutting tumpeng, awarding outstanding doctors at the Main and Middle Exemplary levels, and releasing doves. The series of activities were filled with counseling on diseases common to the elderly in the field of Neurosurgery, ranging from strokes, brain tumors, low back pain, to material about senile dementia, as well as health services which include tension checks, blood sugar checks, and doctor consultations.


Today's event was attended by 187 elderly people from all sub-districts in Tabanan Regency. The elderly seemed very enthusiastic and active in the activities, ranging from question and answer sessions during counseling, health checks to special performances from the elderly YWS Tabanan branch. The event was lively with a family atmosphere and was closed by giving door prizes to 2 lucky participants.
