Visiting Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society

 

The Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University held the "Visiting Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society" activity on October 1 2023. This activity took place on the 4th Floor of RSUP Prof. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah, Denpasar. In this activity, ophthalmology experts from the Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society were invited as guest speakers with the aim of inspiring and educating the next generation of Indonesian ophthalmologists, especially Bali.

 

This activity began with a speech by the Main Director of RSUP Prof. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah, Dr. I Wayan Sudana, M.Kes., Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, FK Unud, Dr. Dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT(K)., Head of the Eye Health Sciences Department, Prof. RSUP. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah., Dr. Dr. I Wayan Gede Jayanegara, Sp.M(K),.

 

Dr. I Wayan Sudana, M.Kes, in his speech welcomed the team from the Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society. He hopes that this event can bring progress and benefits to education and services provided at RSUP Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. The main focus is eye health services.

 

Dr. Eka, as Deputy Dean I, also expressed his pride in the Eye Health Science Study Program because it has collaborated and worked together a lot both abroad and domestically.

"In the future, it is hoped that cooperation with Maharashtra will continue and become stronger so that it will provide benefits for study programs and resident students both in education, community health services and technology," he said

 

In this activity, two topics were discussed, namely Situational Analysis of Blindness and Visual Impairment in Indonesia and Bali by dr. Ni Made Ari Suryathi, Sp. M(K) and Tips For Buying Instruments by dr. Santosh Bhide.

 

This activity went smoothly and was attended by Mr. Santosh Shankar Bidde as President of the Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society, 28 members of the Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society, department representatives and residents of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.

The visit from the Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society became a forum for collaboration and exchange of knowledge with the aim of making a positive contribution to the Ophthalmology educational institution at Udayana University and the eye health services of Prof. I.G.N.G Hospital. Ngoerah.
