FK Unud Provides Lung Health Education in Songan Village, Kintamani

 

The Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Specialist Study Program, FK Unud held Community Service (PKM) activities located in Songan Village, Kintamani, Bangli. (23/9/2023)

This activity began with prayers at Hulundanu Batur Temple and Tirta Hulundanu Temple which was attended by the entire committee with the aim of asking for prayers and blessings so that the activity could run smoothly without any obstacles.

After the group prayer, the activity was then opened by the Head of the Department of Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine, namely Dr. Ida Ayu Jasminarti Dwi Kusumawardani, Sp. P(K-Onk) and the Village Head of Songan Traditional Village, Jero Temu.

In his speech, dr. Jasmin conveyed the importance of maintaining lung health by implementing a clean and healthy lifestyle by avoiding exposure to substances and gases that have a negative impact on health such as smoking, exposure to smoke from burning household waste and incense.

"In addition to avoiding gas exposure, it is also important to carry out preventive strategies to maintain lung health, such as using personal protective equipment (PPE) in agricultural activities or during religious events and carrying out lung function screening as a way to determine lung health," he said.

After the opening, the activity then continued with health checks and education with material about indoor air pollution and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. This activity was attended by a health team from the Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Specialist Study Program, FK Udayana, totaling 48 people and the Songan village community, numbering more than 50 people.

This health examination activity includes a general physical examination (blood pressure, pulse, height and weight) as well as a lung function examination using a spirometer. The activity then ended with prayers at Hulundanu Batur Temple.
