Thanks to Belimbing Wuluh Leaves, I Made Arya Bhaskara Swara Got a Bachelor's Degree

I Made Arya Bhaskara Swara, S.TP. who is often called Bhaskara or Bhas successfully earned a Bachelor of Food Technology (S.TP.) degree at the Food Technology Study Program at Udayana University which was officially graduated in August 2023 by conducting a study on the Effect of Extraction Time Using the Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE) Method on Activities Antioxidants of Belimbing Wuluh Leaf Extract (Averhoa bilimbi L) under the guidance of Dr. Gusti Ayu Kadek Diah Puspawati, S.TP., M.Si. and Dr. I Wayan Rai Widarta, S.TP., M.Si.

The research carried out was the manufacture of extracts derived from natural ingredients such as belimbing wuluh leaves. He said he chose starfruit leaves because according to him, through a library study that had been done before, these leaves contain bioactive components such as antioxidants which are very high in potential as anticancer and antibacterial which are good for body health. In the process of making the extract, the Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE) method was used, which is an extraction method that utilizes microwave radiation which can produce high bioactive components with a short extraction time.

Bhaskara in his research reported that starfruit leaf extract contains bioactive components such as phenols, vitamin C and flavonoids which are indicated to function as antioxidants and have anticancer and antibacterial potential with an IC50 value of 28.35 ppm which means that the antioxidants in starfruit extract are classified as very strong.
