Symposium and Workshop "Dermoscopy in Daily Clinical Practice"

 

Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University and Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah held a hybrid seminar with the main location point at the Werkudara Hall of Prof. Hospital. dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah (21 August 2023).

The seminar with the theme "Dermoscopy in Daily Clinical Practice" brought in International Dermoscopy expert, Dr. David L. Swanson, MD (USA). The 2023 Dermoscopy Symposium and Workshop is a series of events regarding the basics of dermoscopy and dermoscopy features in various skin diseases.

 

The importance of dermoscopy is studied where its use is carried out in a non-invasive and relatively inexpensive way so that early detection of skin cancer can be carried out.

For example, identifying melanoma with the naked eye is not accurate, but using dermoscopy can help general practitioners make early detection.

This activity was opened by the Head of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University / RSUP Prof. dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah, Dr. dr. I. G. N. Darmaputra, Sp.KK(K), FINSDV, FAADV.

The topics of this symposium consist of three topics, namely:

1. Introduction of basic dermoscopy and Dermoscopy in skin tumor delivered by Dr. David L. Swanson, MD (USA),

2. Dermoscopy in skin inflammation presented by Dr. dr. Nyoman Suryawati, M.Kes, Sp.KK(K), FINSDV, FAADV,

3. Dermoscopy in skin Infection by Dr. dr. Luh Made Mas Rusyati, Sp.KK(K), FINSDV, FAADV

Dry Workshop with the topic of getting to know Dermoscopy was presented by Dr. David Swanson who is a Professor in Dermatology and Director of the Resident Program at the Mayo Clinic Arizona.

Dermoscopy 2023 symposium and workshop is intended for general practitioners, students of the Dermatology and Venereology Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS), and Dermatology and Venereology Specialists with the aim of increasing participants' clinical knowledge and skills.

The agenda for this activity was filled with the opening, filling out the pre test, giving symposium and dry workshop materials, question and answer session, filling out the post test, door prize announcement and ending with closing.
