Consistent Towards Internationalization, FTP Unud Collaborates with Boku University and UGM
Again demonstrating consistency towards Internationalization of the Program. The Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University, is carrying out a collaboration with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), Austria. Not only that, this time Unud FTP also collaborated with Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Yogyakarta. The activity was carried out on 27th -30th July 2023 in Subak Jaka, Marga, Tabanan which was attended by 15 Subak Members, 6 counseling experts, 15 students, 6 laboratory staff and 10 lecturers, and presented Dr. Ngadih from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and presented Mrs. Katharina Maria Keiblinger, Mr. Gernot Bodner and Ms. Rebecca Clare Hood of The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, Austria. This activity was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Prof. Ir. I Made Anom Sutrisna Wijaya, M.App.Sc.,Ph.D., Coordinator of the Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering Study Program and Coordinator of the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program, and Coordinator of the Research and Community Service Unit of FTP Unud Mrs. Ni Nyoman Sulastri, S .TP., M.Agr., Ph.D.
The collaboration carried out aims to establish cooperation between the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University, UGM and BOKU University in a non-degree learning process that is carried out to share knowledge in the field of agricultural technology, especially for empowering subak organizations and introducing Udayana University as a world-class university by demonstrating its ability Organize international standard academic activities. This collaborative activity was carried out by 2 study programs within the FTP of Udayana University, namely the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Study Program and the Agroindustrial Technology Study Program.
Some of the activities that have been carried out, namely the visit of Subak Jaka on July 27th 2023 to take soil samples from rice farming land and determine the productivity of rice and straw and soil samples were then analyzed in a laboratory located at the Bukit Jimbaran Campus on July 28th -29th 2023. Analysis soil covering the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil carried out by the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Study Program, in addition to the preparation of rice straw shampoo on July 28th -29th . Community service activities were held on July 30th 2023 at Balai Subak Jaka which discussed existing soil conditions, ways to improve soil quality, and carried out a simple test to determine soil conditions by the Agricultural Engineering and Biosystems Study program. In addition, community service by providing training to village associations for the utilization of rice straw as shampoo is provided by the Agroindustrial Technology Study Program. All of these activities were carried out in collaboration with UGM and Boku University.
