Tuesday (2/5/2023) at the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Jimbaran Campus, Udayana University held an oath-taking for new government employees (PNS) within Unud which was led by the Chancellor of Udayana University, Prof. I Nyoman Gde Antara. The event, which was also attended by university leaders and home base faculties leaders for those government employees, began with the Mejaya-jaya ceremony at the Maha Widya Saraswati Temple for Hindu government employees. Furthermore, accompanied by priest according to their respective religions, all new government employees carried out the oath-taking ceremony and symbolic signing of the minutes which were carried out by representatives of each religion.
A total of 102 government employees who took their oath/pledge, consisting of 1 education staff at the General Bureau, 5 Educators (Lecturers) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, 10 Lecturers at the Faculty of Law, 43 Lecturers at the Faculty of Medicine, 8 people at the Faculty of MIPA, 4 lecturers at the Faculty of Tourism, 6 lecturers at the Faculty of Agriculture, 23 people from the Faculty of Engineering, and 2 lecturers at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology.
I Nyoman Gde Antara in his remarks congratulated the government employees who had joined Unud and hoped that his presence would strengthen the ranks to advance Udayana University which we both love. Such a long process has been passed in such fierce competition, especially in the present era where the government clearly needs a very small number of government employees. Therefore, with such intense competition from start to finish, these government employees have managed to go through the stages properly so that they are accepted as government employees who in the end now make promises/oaths according to the requirements imposed.
"Hopefully your joining the big family of Udayana University will have a significant impact on the progress of Udayana University which we both love," said the Chancellor of Udayana University. Furthermore, Antara conveyed that the duties and responsibilities as government employees are our responsibility to the nation and state so that government employees are essentially serving. Let us jointly advance Udayana University wherever it is assigned as a state civil apparatus and so that we can always work together.
On this occasion the Chancellor also explained at a glance about Unud which currently still has the status of BLU (General Service Agency) and will soon step into PTN-BH (State College with Legal Entity). In this period of transformation, there is really a lot that needs to be done. Most of our success, of course, will be determined by the readiness of our human resources, including educators, education staff, students and alumni. The Chancellor hopes that the Udayana University academic community can work in earnest because the future challenges of becoming a BH PTN are extraordinarily tough. It is our hope that after becoming PTN BH the pillars of the university such as professionalism, efficiency and others will automatically be created, because in principle PTN BH means improving services to the public in the field of education by promoting the highest possible efficiency. Through this oath or pledge, government employees become government employees who are responsible for what must be done.
