Doctoral Promotion Session in the Name of KOMANG KRISNA HERYANDA, S.E., M.M. DOCTORAL ECONOMICS STUDY PROGRAM FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS UDAYANA UNIVERSITY

The majority of poverty is found in communities where the population works in the agricultural sector. Income is a major problem in the agricultural sector due to inefficient use of resources in the production process resulting in lower yields than the resources expended by farmers during the production process (Hinderink & Sterkenburg, 1985; JettéNantel et al., 2011; Wortmann-Kolundzija , 2019). Inefficiency in the use of resources due to the agricultural techniques applied by farmers are still traditional, so that the resources that have been spent are not comparable to the results obtained by farmers,

 

 

On this happy occasion, Thursday 12 January 2023, Promovendus Komang Krisna Heryanda, S.E., M.M. delivered a dissertation with the topic: Analysis of the Welfare of Garlic Farmers in Buleleng Regency.

 

 

The purpose of this dissertation is to analyze the role of government, farmer institutions and farmer competence on the ability to adopt information technology and farming performance and the welfare of garlic farmers in Buleleng Regency. The research results from promovendus are: The welfare of garlic farmers in Buleleng Regency can be realized through social enterprises and institutions in helping farmers improve their welfare. The social enterprise originates from the government's role as a facilitator and farmer institution in carrying out its functions. In addition, increasing the welfare of farmers can be done by increasing the competence of farmers in terms of planning, execution, evaluation and post-harvest sales.

 

 

 

This Doctoral Promotion Session was held offline, where the Promoter of Promovendus was Prof. Dr. Made Suyana Utama, S.E., M.S., and Co-promoter Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Yuliarmi,S.E., M.P. and Co-promoter II is Dr. Ida Bagus Purbadharmaja, S.E., M.P. This exam was led by the Head of the Session who on this occasion was led by the Coordinating Study Program, Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Yuliarmi, S.E., M.P. Promovendus is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Ganesha University of Education. Promovendus successfully passed the exam with the title of Very Satisfactory.
