Fakultas Pariwisata Unud Selenggarakan Perlombaan Tingkat Nasional, Total Hadiah Jutaan Rupiah

JIMBARAN, EDITORIAL TEAM – The Faculty of Tourism of Udayana University (Unud) is preparing to hold a national level competition event. The competition, entitled Udayana Tourism Championship (UTC), is the first activity that collaborates with all student organizations (ormawa) in the Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University. This activity serves as a “big umbrella” for the annual event which is usually held separately by each ormawa. The series of UTC activities will be filled with various competitions with various prizes worth a total of millions of rupiah.

UTC 2022 carries the theme "Z Generation as Agent of Change for Sustainable Tourism and Environment in Indonesia". This theme was chosen in the hope of reminding the important role of Generation Z to encourage them to actualize the discourse of sustainable tourism development in Indonesia. The participants were invited to understand this spirit through various subjects.

Each ormawa held one activity. The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Tourism held a "Tourism Cup" with two competitions, namely futsal and Mobile Legend e-sports. The Bachelor of Tourism Study Program Student Association (HMPS) held “Tourism Content” with travel writing, e-poster, and video competitions. HMPS Travel Industry held “Tourism Week” with guiding competitions, tour packages, and national essay competitions. HMPS Hospitality Management held a “Tourism Contest with competitions in the form of making bed & towel art, flair bartender, and front office.

This activity is open to students and high school / vocational students throughout Indonesia. Registration is open until November 14, 2022 via the link https://bit.ly/utc-2022. The activity will take place from November 25 to December 3, 2022.

The Chairperson of the 2022 UTC Committee, Rosalia Anggraeni Dian Lestari, said that the committee is currently completing the final preparations.

"The progress is now 80%. However, there are still some equipment needed during opening and closing that do not yet exist. Apart from that, one of our main concerns is funding," explained the woman who is familiarly called Oca in a written statement received by the editorial team on Friday (11/11) yesterday.

The entire UTC 2022 Committee held a General Meeting and Progress at the Manuaba Hall, Bukit Jimbaran Faculty of Tourism Campus last Wednesday (9/11). From the meeting, it was discovered that there were still a number of other obstacles faced, namely participants who registered had not met the expected cities, sponsorship cooperation was still minimal, and mechandise sales were not maximized.

However, Oca is optimistic that this first UTC will be successful because the committee already has a strategy to overcome these obstacles, one of which is to continue to open opportunities for parties who wish to establish sponsorship partnerships.

“Currently my main focus is more on the constraints that I have mentioned before. I hope that all obstacles can be overcome properly so that this activity can run smoothly and successfully. Hopefully in the future the hard work of UTC committee members will pay off," he said. (Selvian Nanggu)
