The 163rd Graduation Ceremony of the Rector of Udayana University Released 626 Graduates, 361 of whom Received the Cum Laude Predicate

Jimbaran - Udayana University (Unud) held an Academic Ceremony for the 163rd Graduation at the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Jimbaran Campus, Saturday (26/10/2024). At the 163rd Graduation Ceremony, the Rector of Unud sent off 626 graduates and to date the total number of Udayana University graduates has reached 125,689 people. Graduation itself is a form of inauguration that students have completed their education at a certain program level.

When grouped according to educational level, the graduates at the 163rd Graduation Ceremony consisted of 21 people from the Doctoral Program, 90 Masters, 6 Specialists, 128 Professionals, 363 Bachelors and 18 Diplomas. Of the total number of graduates who received the title With Honors or Cum Laude, there were 361 people.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, MP., IPU in his report said that today's graduates were dominated by women, numbering 370 people, while there were only 256 male graduates. In terms of academic achievement, the GPA of female graduates is better than that of male graduates, where the average GPA for women is 3.81 while the average GPA for men is 3.76. The average study period for women is 6.50 semesters while the study period for men is 7.33 semesters. In the 163rd graduation period, there were 46 scholarship recipients from 13 scholarship providers.

"We congratulate the graduates and thank the families of the graduates for the trust given to Udayana University as a place for the learning process in Higher Education, hopefully this will be a good start to your career and success. Keep up the enthusiasm to achieve all your dreams in enriching horizon of life in society," said the Vice Rector.

To obtain important information feedback from alumni for improvement, system development and management of higher education, including facilities, teaching and learning patterns, processes and services at Udayana University, the Vice Rector also expects the participation of graduates to participate in online tracer study activities which was carried out by Udayana University.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Unud, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D, in his speech expressed his pride in the achievements and perseverance of the graduates in overcoming all the obstacles that came their way during their education. This graduation ceremony is the last academic event that is followed in pursuing a level of education at university. This is a form of Udayana University's responsibility to the Indonesian nation and state, especially in preparing quality and competitive human resources in the current global era.

"I advise all graduates that graduation and the degree you have achieved is not the end of everything but is the beginning of a new challenge in your life. Apart from that, you as an alumni are a representation of Udayana University in society. Your behavior in society will be a reflection of this campus. Therefore, I advise and really hope that you will help maintain the good name of your alma mater by always thinking, saying and doing good," said the Rector.

The Rector hopes that graduates can apply knowledge in their respective professions in a more responsible and qualified manner. Continue learning, work smartly and sincerely, and maintain the good name of your alma mater. It is hoped that the knowledge that has been obtained can be implemented well for the progress of society, nation and state.

Graduate Representative Putu Gede Pradana Adnyana in his message expressed his gratitude that all life processes including studying at Unud went well so they could gather at the 163rd Graduation event. 

"We ask for your blessing, so that we can implement the knowledge we have gained during college and can become role models and be useful in society," he said.
