Udayana University Again Inaugurates Six Permanent Professors

Jimbaran - Udayana University (Unud) held a Permanent Professor Inauguration at the Widya Sabha Auditorium Building, Jimbaran Campus, Saturday (28/5/2022). There were six professors who were inaugurated, namely two from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, two from the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty, one from the Faculty of Humanities and one from the Faculty of Medicine.

The six professors who were inaugurated are (1) Prof. Dr. drh. I Made Dwinata, M.Kes. as Professor in the field of Veterinary Parasitology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with the title Scientific Oration: Impact of Worm Parasite Infection in Livestock on National Food Security; (2) Prof. Dr. Ir. I Putu Sampurna, M.S as Professor in the field of Veterinary Science at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with the title Scientific Oration: The Role of Infographics to Draw Conclusions on the Results of Data Analysis of Veterinary Science Research; (3) Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Ayu Made Puspani, M.Hum as Professor of English Literature (and Language) at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences with the title Scientific Oration: Oral Translation (INTERPRETING); (4) Prof. Dr. Dra. Wiwik Susanah Rita, M.Si as Professor of Organic Chemistry of Natural Materials at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences with the title Scientific Oration: The Potential of Banana Peel (Musa sp.) As Antibacterial Agent and Its Active Compound Content; (5) Prof. Dr. dr. Tjokorda Gde Agung Senapathi, Sp.AN.,KAR as Professor in Anesthesia and Intensive Therapy at the Faculty of Medicine with the title Scientific Oration: Application of Regional Anesthesia Technology and Its Integration into the Tri Dharma of Higher Education; and (6) Prof. Ir. Ida Ayu Astarini, M.Sc.,Ph.D as Professor in the field of Biotechnology at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences with the title Scientific Oration: Tissue Culture Technology for Increasing Production and Quality of Horticultural Crops.

Rector of Unud Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng.,IPU in his description said that with the addition of these six professors, Udayana University now has 179 professors and the percentage of professors owned is 13 percent, which indicates that it has exceeded the target of the Ministry of at least 10 percent. . From the data held by the HR Department, currently Unud has 1394 PNS Educators and 136 BLU Permanent Lecturers. There are 413 head lectors, 507 are lectors; 204 Expert Assistants and 91 teaching staff. From this data, at this time, Unud has 149 Lectors and 255 Head Lectors who have doctoral degrees which are the raw materials for becoming Professors. The hope is that all of them can proceed and be confirmed as Professors. Udayana University has now formed a Professors Forum and the Professors who were confirmed this time will be members of the Forum, where this Forum was formed to accommodate Professors in providing suggestions, inputs and ideas for the future development of Udayana University.

In addition to the addition of Professors, the exciting thing this month for Udayana University is that the institution's accreditation has increased from A to Superior. This is a big capital for us to go even further. The Chancellor hopes that these six new professors can be role models, able to protect and provide solutions to problems that arise in society through their knowledge to advance this nation and country.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Unud Professors Forum, Prof. Dr. dr. Ketut Suastika, Sp.PD-KEMD said that the Chancellor of Unud had formed an non-structural organization, namely the Professors Forum and his party was appointed as the Chair. He hoped that through this forum the Professors at Unud could provide their thoughts and contributions as mandated by the Rector. In this forum there are six divisions, three related to Tridharma and three more related to matters outside Unud namely local, national and international. Representing the Forum, Prof. Suastika congratulated the six new Professors and their families and hoped that the Professors would be ready to face the challenges of an unpredictable future. Hopefully, the presence of these six professors will provide additional energy to accelerate the quality improvement of Udayana University and become better in the future. This new professor is also expected to provide new inspiration for the progress of Unud.
