The Winners of The Mawirama Competition in SMA/SMK level in Bali 2017

Denpasar - Saturday, November 4, 2017 The Ancient Javanese Literature Student’s Association of Faculty of Cultural Knowledge held Mawirama and Palawakya competitions in SMA/SMK level in Bali. The competition was held to commemorate the 57th anniversary of Ancient Javanese Literature Program and the 7th anniversary of Ancient Javanese Student’s Association. The theme appointed in the competition was "Ancient Javanese Language and Literature as the Unifier of Cultural Heritage of Nusantara". The competition was held at the Auditorium Widya Sabha Mandala Faculty of Cultural Knowledge Denpasar.

The background of the competition being held was the low interest of youths for Mawirama and Palawakya. Thus, the competition was expected to increase the interest of youths for Mawirama and Palawakya. The competition was competed by 23 pairs of participants which each pair consisted of two people. The winners of the competition were as follows.

Ida Bagus Made Ari Segara, the committee chairman of the competition said that the competition had been prepared within a period of approximately two months. "Although there are some issues, but still can run smoothly, hopefully for next year the participants will increase", he said. (fai)
