UNUD SIGNED MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH INDUSTRIAL TRAINING CENTER DENPASAR

On Tuesday, February 21th , 2017, University of Udayana and Industry Training Center, Denpasar has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The program was attended by the Head of Industrial Training Center, Denpasar, Deputy Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information affairs, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Head of Bureau for Academic, Cooperation and Public Relations, Head of Department of Information Technology, Lecturer and students of Department of Information and Technology.

In his speech, the Deputy Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information, Prof. Drs. I Made Suastra, Ph.D. said that various cooperation has been carried out by the 3rd party with national governments, local and private sector. Therefore, the cooperation with the BDI is one of cooperation with the government that is expected to benefit both parties, especially the University of Udayana that already has two units of activity which focus on dealing with entrepreneurship and business incubators. Both units are reserved for students who have an interest to small businesses. Anually, has been conducted two meetings of young intrepreners at Udayana University, Jl. P.B. Sudirman which is accompanied by an exhibition. Prof. Drs. I Made Suastra, Ph.D. also hopes that through this cooperation with Industry Training Center Denpasar can contribute to bridging the faculty and students to enter the industry. This cooperation is also expected to continue and to be followed in developing young entrepreneurs at Udayana University.

Head of the Industry Training Center, Denpasar, Drs Paryono MM welcomed the expectations of the Udayana University. Head of the BDI said that the Training Center works hard in creating a ready workforce in the field of digital animation. In the cooperation between the two sides can be a complement each other in preparing the human resources and facilitate the young generation in floating the talent in the field of digital content. The Industry Training Center has also been working there with eight state universities and vocational schools in the field of Industry and the Minister of Industry efforts to achieve program targeting one million skilled workers in 2017.

At the signing of the Memorandum activities, also implemented the signatories Agreement of Cooperation between the BDI with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, followed by the "Business Incubation Program Dissemination Tohpati BDI". Hopefully, by the technical cooperation, the Department of Information and Technology, can send their students to be fostered by the Industry Training Centre Denpasar in terms of Startup development. The activity is in line with the programs that have been implemented by the IT Department, where the Team Tun Tun in 2016 have followed NEXT DEV which is a competition held by Net TV and ranked the Top 5. The cooperation with the BDI is one of cooperation with a huge potential to be developed and followed up in the future, especially to facilitate the students in developing the Startup program.(PR)
