Public Lecture "The effectiveness of APBN to State Building" by the Minister of Finance of Indonesia
Question and Answer session of Public Lecture by Sri Mulyani Indrawati, which was moderated by Mr. Ketut Suastika, Rector of Udayana University
Bukit,Jimbaran-Badung. Udayana University held public lecture again on Friday, Januari 20th 2017. This activity took place at Widya Sabha Hall Bukit Jimbaran. The theme for this public lecture was “the effectiveness of APBN to State Building”. Besides, the theme is interesting, this public lecture more interesting by presenting the Minister of Finance of Indonesia, Sri Mulyani Indrawati as the speaker who would discuss about the theme. The participants who attend in this activity were very enthusiastic. The participants came from among students with different disciplines, among lectures as much as more than two thousand people. This activity also attended by representative of the Governor of Bali, Rector of Universities in Bali.
The event was opened by Sekar Jagat dance. Then public lecture was opened by Prof.Dr.dr. Ketut Suastika,Sp.PD.KEMD as the Rector of Udayana University. In his speech, he said how the Indonesian government in future toward a better direction, especially in APBN management. It was also supported by an increase in human resources.
Toward the main event was the public lecture delivered by Mrs. Sri Mulyani. She discussed how the effectiveness of the state budget (APBN) as well as the allocation of funds from the state budget. In addition, the messages conveyed by her, particularly to young people that are young generation must study harder from previous generation. It was caused currently generation is faced by so many choices and various challenges. Of course, it would make us difficult to differentiate which is true and false. She also suggested to the young people that success is to be preceded by their consistency, discipline and action against the plans that we have and also love our country wholeheartedly.
“To build this country for the better, it should be built by the citizens” said Mrs. Sri. She also discussed community concerns about sovereign debt, in which all debt would be handling if Indonesia citizens are devout to pay taxes. All tax paid will be allocated back to the community. Taxes paid will be used to subsidize existing activities. Especially activities in this respect are education and health.

“Bali currently has a fairly good level of achievement, judging from unemployment and poverty rates are quite low. I hope the universities especially in tourism are able to manage the tourism knowledge. Where the tourism knowledge could be noted into a knowledge that can be taught, to be cultivated so that we are not only as lovers but how we were able to make tourism is better, because the tourism sector in Bali has an important role in the national income, "said Mrs Sri.
We become human beings should be able to be responsible, in the economy; the economic engine should be driven by the community. The government in responding the matter has made improvements to the investment climate in which it is useful to Indonesia to face globalization. The role of the University will be able to create human resources who are good in quality, in order to achieve an impartial and prosperous society. (sobhita)
