Udayana University’s Rector Was One of Many Speakers In the 86th Bali’s Governor Simakrama

Denpasar - Saturday (Jan, 7), Rector of Udayana University (Prof.Dr.dr.Ketut Suastika, Sp.PD.KEMD) became one of the speakers at the 86th Simakrama forum held by the Governor of Bali (I Made Mangku Pastika) in Wisma Sabha Utama, Governor’s Office, Denpasar. The forum, which was packaged like a workshop, have chosen "Who is Unemployed in Bali?" as the theme of the event. This event was intended to gain knowledge about criteria and qualifications required in looking for a job in Bali. In addition, the discussion in the forum was also intended to find solutions, between the provincial government of Bali and the community, regarding unemployment in Bali. In the forum, the Rector of Udayana University became one of the speakers who gave a presentation about the efforts of Udayana University to prepare students to be ready in looking for jobs. In his explanation, he explained that one of the efforts that the university has been done to make the students ready to develop their careers was by establishing Career Development Centre. Such effort has done and expected to minimize unemployed number of the university’s graduates.

There were many other speakers invited to the forum to make a presentation. Among others were the Head of Bali’s Labor Department, Head of Bali’s Statistics Organization, the head of the fourth commission of Bali’s House of Representative, the head of the Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (known as APINDO) in Bali, Bali State Polytechnic Director and Rector of Warmadewa University. In the forum, the speakers were given time to make a presentation to discuss about the problem, particularly about the unemployment in each institution.
The forum which ran about 3 hours (at 9-12 am) was attended by participants from the community who had different backgrounds, such as students, activist organization in Bali, and lecturers. Some participants joined in this forum were also given the opportunity to participate in the discussion sessions to solve the unemployment in Bali when the Bali’s governor was also listened to the discussion.
At the end of the forum, the governor expected that participants in the forum could provide a solution about unemployment in Bali. In addition, the Governor also expressed his hope that the community can unite to determine and commit to make Bali a secure, peaceful, and prosperous place. (ayuniantari)
