Accreditation Visitation of the Udayana University Library by the Indonesian National Library Assessor Team
Jimbaran - The Assessor Team from the Directorate of Standardization and Accreditation of the National Library of Indonesia visited the Udayana University (Unud) Library in the context of an accreditation visit, 3-5 October 2024. The Assessor Team who came were Drs. Supriyanto, M.Si and Eka Meifrina Suminarsih, S.S., M.M. The opening event was attended by the Rector of Unud, Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Chair of LP3M, Secretary of LPPM, USDI Representative, Head and Secretary of Libraries, Librarians and Reading Ambassadors as well as the Deputy Head for Resource Development of the National Library of Indonesia who attended online.
Rector of Unud Prof. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana in his speech said that his party had tried as hard as possible and that many things had been updated and improved of course in order to provide services to the entire academic community on the Udayana University campus. There is already a newly inaugurated building that is being used as a silent room, and this year Springer is joining in an effort to improve services to the academic community so that our education can truly progress.
The library is the heart of campus life. There have been 9 components prepared, hopefully what the assessors ask for can be facilitated by the librarians. Of course, the hope is that library accreditation will continue to achieve excellence, where the results of this accreditation also become a determinant in university accreditation.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head for Resource Development at the National Library of Indonesia, Dr. Adin Bonar, S.Sos., M.Si in his speech conveyed that this activity was in order to improve the quality of education at Udayana University Bali, through library strengthening or accreditation. He expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Unud for the good policies and support for the current development of higher education libraries, especially in carrying out this field assessment.
The hope is that the value obtained will be in line with expectations. The basis for implementing this activity is Law Number 43 of 2007 concerning Libraries where libraries exist to fulfill the educational, research, preservation, information and recreational needs of users.
