LP3M Udayana University Holds Case and Project Based Learning Workshop
Denpasar - The Learning Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LP3M) of Udayana University (Unud) held a Case and Project Based Learning Workshop in the Wiswakarma Hall, Faculty of Engineering Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, Wednesday (16/10/2024). The workshop, which was opened directly by the Rector of Udayana University, presented Prof. Dr. Lia Yuliati, M.Pd (LPPP State University of Malang) and Dr. Ni Nyoman Reni Suasih, S.IP,. M.Si (Unud Faculty of Economics and Business) and attended by the Vice Deans for Academic Affairs, Diploma and Undergraduate Study Program Coordinators, UP3M, TPPM and other invitees.
Chairman of the Committee Prof. Dr. Ir. G.P. Ganda Putra in its report stated that as is known in Permendikbudristek Number 53 and has been stated in Pertor Number 7 of 2024 concerning Unud Standards, it is stated that to ensure the achievement of graduate competency, this can be done through implementing a project-based curriculum or similar forms of learning methods. This is crucial because in the end this becomes a performance contract which starts from the Ministry with the Rector, then the Rector with the Dean, and the Dean with the Study Program Coordinator. This concerns performance indicators, especially IKU 7 regarding the percentage of collaborative and/or participatory learning courses divided by the total courses where Unud's target is 40 percent. So far this has not been achieved and many reports are still invalid.
"We are carrying out this workshop more substantively so we invite the Study Program Coordinator and TPPM to later explain more about the learning in each course," he said.
They also invited speaker from the State University of Malang who are experts in the field of learning, and hopefully the material presented will provide more understanding related to project or case learning material. Furthermore, there were also speaker from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University to provide good practices on how to apply case and project learning.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Unud, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana in his speech said that as an educational institution, Udayana University has an obligation to implement the Tridharma of Higher Education, namely education, research and community service. One of them is education which is translated into a learning process where quality standards have been prepared by the LP3M Team, where one of these standards is the learning process standard.
So far, we often hear about SCL (Student Centered Learning), how to make this happen is important and to achieve this, the Ministry includes it in IKU 7. This is what must be prepared, the theory has been understood but the implementation needs to be improved. So far, the KPI target has not been achieved and the Rector hopes that this year it will reach 50 percent, so of course this is a challenge.
"We have input but when it is input there are still things that are missing, for that we have to equalize the input criteria and template. The speakers is expected to be able to provide direction in the input process and the provisions that must be in place so that the course can be recognized as based on case methods or project methods. Let's look after this together starting from the study program and SIMAK operator, so that we hope this can be implemented and IKU can be achieved," said the Rector.
