The Rector and Other Delegation from Udayana University Made a Working Visit and Signed a Renewal Agreement to Nanchang University-China

Thursday, November 19 2024, the Rector and a delegation from Udayana University (Unud) carried out a working visit and signed a renewal of cooperation with Nanchang University-China. The delegation from Udayana University who attended were as follows: Rector of Udayana University, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana, Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information, Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika, as well as the Director of Indonesia TCI, Udayana University, Dr. I Made Sendra, Director of China TCI Udayana University Prof. Tao Xianguang, as well as assistant director of the Confucius Institute, Udayana University, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Widyatmaja.

The visit of the Udayana University delegation was divided into two meeting stages, namely the first meeting with an agenda of exploring cooperation between Udayana University and Nanchang University. The agenda for the first meeting was chaired directly by Prof. Yi Chen Vice Dean of International Education College by presenting several leaders from Nanchang University such as Director of Office of International Affairs Li Wang, Dean of Art Architecture and Design College Zhi – Xiu Li, Vice Dean of School of Infrastructure Engineering Huo-Kun Li, Vice Dean of School of Tourism Jia Wang, Vice Dean of School of Infrastructure Engineering Shui-hua Jiang, Vice Dean of School of Infrastructure Engineering Li –Sha He, Vice Dean of International Education College Jun Li, Vice Dean of International Education College Wen-jie Song.

The meeting began with three important agendas discussed at the meeting, the first of which was related to wider cooperation opportunities to provide space for the two universities to build cooperation in various fields of cooperation so as to provide greater benefits for both parties.

The second is related to the winter camp program agenda at Udayana University which is planned to be implemented in February 2025. Meanwhile, the third agenda is the 2+2 double degree program especially in Tourism Management at the Faculty of Tourism at Udayana University with the School of Tourism Nanchang University.

Apart from meetings related to wider collaboration opportunities, the delegation from Udayana University also had the opportunity to see several laboratories at the School of Infrastructure Engineering, Architecture and Design College. This visit activity is of course with the aim of finding out in reality the facilities and methods used in transferring knowledge, especially at the School of Infrastructure Engineering, Architecture and Design College.

On the same day, the main agenda was continued, namely the signing of the renewal agreement between Udayana University and Nanchang University in connection with the Tourism Confucius Institute.

The signing event was attended directly by the President of Nanchang University, Prof. Ye Guang Chen. In his speech, he stated that Nanchang University and Udayana University had collaborated for quite a long time, namely in 2017, which began with the establishment of the Tourism Chinese Language Training Center at Udayana University. The extension of the signing of this collaboration provides space to establish more intensive collaboration and opens up opportunities to develop broader collaboration considering that Udayana University is one of the well-known universities and is located in an area that is very famous for its tourism industry in the world.

The Rector of Udayana University also conveyed the same thing in his speech, who expressed his sincere thanks and felt honored for having worked together well so far. In the future, it is hoped that cooperation will not only be in the aspect of learning Mandarin but will expand the scope of cooperation in all fields considering that Udayana University has 13 faculties with levels of diploma, bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. Seeing such great opportunities for cooperation, it is hoped that various work programs can be realized considering that China is a developed country in terms of science and technology.

The end of the Udayana University delegation's visit to Nanchang University was with a luncheon and handover of souvenirs from both universities. The luncheon was held in the Nanchang campus area and served typical food from Nanchang. The luncheon was attended directly by the secretary party of Nanchang University along with a group from Nanchang University.
