Increasing Accreditation Points, Head of UPT Udayana University Library Wins News Script Writing Competition by IPI Central Management

The Central Management of the Indonesian Librarians Association (IPI) held the XXV Central Working Meeting as well as a National Scientific Seminar and News Script Writing Competition with the theme "The Role of Librarians and Libraries in Increasing Community Literacy in the Era of Transformation", Sunday-Wednesday, 7 to 9 July 2024 at the Hotel Four Points by Sheraton, South Kuta, Bali.

This activity was attended by around 500 people consisting of the Director of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia as Chair of the PP-IPI Trustees along with administrators, Head of the Provincial/Regency/City Library Service, Chancellor, Lecturers in the Library and Information Science Study Program, Librarians, library managers, the Community and observers libraries, literacy activists and all PD-IPI Provinces, and PD-IPI Regency/City.

The General Chairperson of the Central Management of the Indonesian Librarians Association, T. Syamsul Bahri stated that the XXV IPI Rakerpus was held as an effort to discuss the implementation of work programs and organizational regulations in accordance with the mandate of IPI's Articles of Association. Meanwhile, the National Scientific Seminar activities are expected to get the latest developments regarding government policies regarding libraries, the latest thinking, developments in library science, building connections and also having the opportunity to explore the diversity of art, culture and natural beauty of the island of Bali as one of Indonesia's Wonderful Icons. T. Syamsul Bahri also revealed that the News Manuscript Competition was also one of the events that enlivened the national meeting and seminar this time.

First place was won by Dr. Ida Ayu Laksmita Sari, Head of the Udayana University Library with the manuscript title "IPI Invites Experts to Discuss the Importance of Artificial Intelligence in Library Management", second place was won by a librarian from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, third place from the University of Lampung, 1st runner up from the Road Transportation Safety Polytechnic (PKTJ ) Tegal, 2nd runner up from the Directorate General of Electricity, and 3rd runner up from the Bung Hatta Proclaimer Library UPT.

Dr. Laksmita Sari stated that her victory this time also played a role in increasing the accreditation points which will be implemented in October 2024, and is also expected to be an example for librarians and library staff at the UPT Udayana University Library to be able to make reports and news texts when taking part in activities outside campus.
